  Everything is right there ---great restaurants, casino, great spa, shopping, gorgeous views from common areas (pools, exercise room, spa, restaurants). Rooms were not That great.

  The pool/sauna at Hotel De Paris was awesome, the pool is indoors and shaped like a giant clam shell. The room was very modern and decorated stylish. The bathroom was the best part, with dual shower heads and Hermes brand toiletries and quite large at that. One aspect we liked about the room, was that the bedroom was in a spereate area with a door that closed, so we were unable to hear people opening and closing their hotel room doors at night. I have never encountered this type of room before.

  I wanted us to stay somewhere special and the Hotel De Paris did not disappoint, as soon as we arrived even the reception foyer felt very grand and a throwback to a more extravangant past. The staff were very polite and they upgraded us to a seaview room at no extra charge when they found out we had just got engaged, a very generous offer. The room was very large and everything was of a very high standard. As part of a booking every guest gets free access to the Monte Carlo Spa which adjoins the Hotel. We strongly recommend you visit this facility as least once, as it has a fantastic pool and sauna/steam room facilities that you can use free of charge. Best of all you can access it by way of the Hotel De Paris lift which takes you to an underground passage. From here you then walk along a corrdior decked out with famous celebrities from the past before emerging at the reception for the Spa.

  We chose the least expensive room but were pleasantly surprised by its size and amenties. The hotel was everything you would expect, fantastic entrance, stairs to the upper floors, bar etc. When we got back after the opera and went to our room, loud music was playing which kept us awake for some time until it eventually stopped.

  We needed a quick meal before the opera and chose to have something off the bar menu but is was very disappointing. We were asked to sit round a corner out of view of the main bar and the pasta & clams was the worst I'd ever had. The following morning we had breakfast which was very poor for a hotel of this standard.

  The room was big (although it was a bit outdated) and it had a nice balcony, the amenities were great, the lobby was opulent and the location is right in the middle of everything. The Bar American is the best though with a classic cocktail lounge feel, jazz band, great drinks and super snacks.

  Monaco is ideally situated on the French Riviera just 45 minutes by taxi or 10 minutes by helicopter from Nice airport - out of interest, a seat on a private helicopter from the airport (very easy to book and access) flying direct into Monaco will cost the same as a taxi from the airport! Greetings from the bell staff are welcome, uniforms are spotless and traditionally stylish. The architecture and detail of the lobby roof is incredible. Staff are welcoming, very professional and will have you escorted to the room in record time - impressive. White walls, high ceilings, soft carpeting, beautiful solid finishings, brass light fittings and ample in size. Let me through in a few criticisms here which I believe could take these rooms to my personal number one in the world: use duvets not blankets and sheets. Second, the bed comforters are a wonderful fabrique and quality, but a 'little' 70's. Plasma TV's fit in nicely with the classic decor. Heated floors, bold chrome finishings, solid white marbles throughout, huge showers, the majority with whirlpool baths, double sinks and huge mirrors in all of them.

  The staff could not have been more polite or helpful and we were certainly not looked down on because we weren't A list celebrities. Our room was huge and the bathroom amazing. We couldn't fault the service of any of the staff at the hotel although we were slightly surprised when our room service breakfast was delivered to us while we were still in bed! Although we didn't use the swimming pool or the spa other people in our group did and had a wonderful experience. We especially liked the connecting tunnel from the hotel to the spa which takes you under. The hotel is in the best location in Monaco, right opposite the Monte. I agree with other reviewers that the doormen not letting tourists in to the lobby to take photographs is a benefit to the guests staying at the hotel, although you do have to appreciate that the hotel is a tourist attraction in its own right and tourists gathering outside is the.

  The staff was warm and accomodating, they were very generous about giving us an upgrade to a HUGE room. The room is cleaned twice a day and the Hermes bath products are fabulous! As for the pool there is a heated salt water indoor pool with a large, nice sun deck. Make sure you call the day before to reserve your chairs! I hear that the lunch is much more reasonable but since women have no prices on their menus what do I know!

  I was afaid it would be stuffy and was worried about not having an outdoor pool.

  As I had remembered, the hotel staff were efficient and polite but standoffish and detached. Our room had a massive bed that could fit 3 people, which was a big improvement from the room I had 10 years ago. Bathroom was clean but nothing to shout about, if you have stayed in other famous top-rated hotels in other parts of the world. Furniture in room also ok , but not fantastic. 100 plus euros for an extra bed to be put in the room ) This was especially good news as we were going to attend a wedding and needed to hang up our long dresses. The indoor pool is a nice place to hang out too, and you can have drinks in the balcony bar after your workout. Something that we were not happy about : when you leave the hotel, you have to wait for your taxi in a side entrance located near the front of the hotel.

  Its rather uncomfortable waiting in this little side entracne and it's strange that the hotel doesn't let its guests wait in comfort in the lobby.
