They destroyed our visit to Florence since we had to spend the whole afternoon trying to find a decent hotel and we ended up staying at the IBIS at the airport since all the hotels in our budget level were fully booked.

It is a winding 10-15 minute walk from the main train station in Florence.

The shower is in the same room as the beds so there is no privacy at all between the end of the bed and the one step it takes to get into the shower.

The hotel has 16 rooms on two floors of an old building in central Florence, very friendly staff and the bath has hot water running throughout the day.

The hotel had the feeling of a bed and breakfast run by people who really care about their property and your stay.

The room was fairly simple in decor, the staff were very helpful and completely tiled bathroom was sparkling clean.

The room was lovely, spacious, with good beds, extra pillows if needed, plenty of storage space and a safe which didn't cost anything to use.

The night manager is wonderful and will talk your ear off at breakfast.

We bought food at the supermarket below and ate that instead!

The breakfast was the usual fare - cereal, bread and jam etc and the staff were attentive with tea, coffee and fresh supplies.

The reception is very small, just a desk, but the staff were pleasant and helpful, although their English was very limited.

downstairs is very comfortable to reach the reception and the night manager is wonderful.

The girl at the reception said they had problem with their guests who did not wanted to move and that is why they had canceled our reservation.

Great are on a budget, all is good - kind staff.

Also parking: plan on 25 euro per day for parking.

Don't use the lifts if you're at all claustophobic as they are tiny also.

Once inside, there are wrought iron gates, you press a button and they click open, you then pass through to either a small lift, or use the stairs to the hotel which is on the upper floors.

The room was large by European standards and very clean, and there was a full closet with personal safe.

The newly renovated, completely tiled bathroom was sparkling clean.

Room was clean and staff were very friendly.
