Hotel Caribe Merida - Mérida

Reasonably priced, big rooms; gorgeous tiles everywhere; free internet in the lobby; and location, location, location on a charming square one block from the main town square.

The hotel is very clean and the location is convenient for activities in the center of town and for shopping.

It is a pleasant enough place, with a terriffic location within a 2 or 3 blocks, in any direction, of just about everything you may want to see in the centro.

Hotel is in great location near the main plaza.

Terrific central location with a rooftop pool overlooking part of the Cathedral.

After refusing that room we were given another room with a double bed with a slightly less mildew aroma but also with no natural light or window to the outside.

The air con was antiquated and noisy and the bathroom was very small with a dirty shower and not much leg room on the toilet!

We practically ran back to the 2nd room with the double bed and stayed one night , then left in the morning to find mildew-free accomodations.

We had booked a room woth a queen sized bed that was supposedly a luxury accomodation.

When we arrived the hotel had obviously lost our reservation and showed us a dusty, mildew-ridden room with no natural light or window to the outside, with 3 twin beds with very tired linens and hard mattresses.

The staff is very nice and speak English, its close to every thing, the restaurant is perfect for afternoon snack or breakfast or lunch.

The best value for the money, the restaurant serves a great breakfast.

Walking distance to shopping, the marketplace, cathedrals, the city hall, restaurants, almost anything except the airport.

A good vule for the price, free internet in the lobby and front desk staff were very helpful.

Front desk staff were very helpful and the cleaning staff very efficient.

Stayed in Hotel for four nights in Sept 05, a really nice quaint hotel, with not so nice not quaint staff, never saw the cleaning staff, even when by the room most of one day, restaurant staff friendly enough, and the reception.

They, the staff and management looked out for me and made feel as if I was at home.

Had a delightful dinner in the inner resturant and a swim in the rooftop pool to cool down.

The small pool area offers great views of the cathedral and cet hotel est vraiment central dans Merida.

The birds in the lobby are a great addition.

The building of itself has a very rich history, price was reasonable - $45/night and the room were clean.

Good comfortable clean rooms, pleasant staff, and the small pool and sundeck is a bonus.

The rooms, are not fancey but, they are clean and comfortable (if you are not to demanding).
