Walking distance to White Elephant, where you can have lunch. We liked staying at Caribbean World Gammarth. The hotel was near Carthage Salambo train station.

Very laid back and friendly. Relaxing. Casual (in a positive way) is the word that most comes to mind . Great for an off-season stay. The Buffet choice was amazing. Nice easily accessible beach. Really good value for money. I don't know whether any of this would apply in the peak season.
Slightly shabby - needs a repaint! Lumpy pillows! and rooms could do with more windows! Weekends can be noisy because of the adjacent hotel having parties/receptions till 6.00 am.! Hammam was OK but not a proper one. People need to know that this hotel, which is known locally as Da Noaouar is well away from any 'town' as such and taxis need to be taken everywhere. But for the price this was great value.

That there wasn't a cash machine, had to go to La Marsa to find one as one at Carrefour didn't accept Visa either.
