Hotel Capo D' Orso Palau

The hotel's location is beautiful, quiet and secluded, with a pretty beach and private marina.

The location is secluded, so ideal for a quiet time away.

The free pool was okay, if a little dirty, but in a secluded location.

One more tip, if you need a taxi from the airport, get the hotel to arrange it - we were fleeced!

On arrival we took a taxi - it was a little scary, best not to think about the speed and the small windy roads on which you are travelling!

Our two room suite was very comfortable, with a large bed, a separate sofa, a spacious terrace overlooking the ocean, and ample closet and drawer space for one’s belongings.

A comfy dbl bed, TV, decent sized bathroom and plenty of mirrors.

Suite was huge with two double bedrooms - massive bathroom - lounge - fridge etc.

Our room was actually on 2 levels with the bathroom downstairs and the bedroom upstairs.

That said, the room contained everything we wanted, there was adequate wardrobe space with towelling robes and slippers and the bathroom was well equipped.

The small reception adjoins the bar / breakfast area and main restaurant.

If you do want something for lunch use the snack bar in the hotel accessed either through the dining hall or steps from near the beach, you can buy a huge sarnie for 5 euros.

We ate in the restaurant once and the food and setting was excellent.

The food in the restaurant is superb and a perfect way to end a beautiful day.

There are two main lunch and dinner restaurants, one formal, and one being more of a pizza and sandwich place.

The staff throughout the hotel offered the highest standard of service.

Service at dinner too was highly organized, with plenty of staff to ensure a most smooth and enjoyable experience; the harp being played at breakfast was a nice touch and pleasant way to start the day.

Hotel is clean, staff friendly, great service.

As previously mentioned, the service was excellent with the waiters and maitre d' remembering our preferences from night to night.

Thalasso spa was in the same grounds but it is run separately and you need to pay for use of the spa pool.

The pool near the spa is prettier, and has warmer water (3 different temperatures, depending on the section, actually), but alas, you must pay the spa a separate fee to swim there, and small children aren’t allowed there.

There is a second 'Thalasso' pool with jacuzzi, but you have to pay 30 euros per person for half a day, which I did not consider worth it.

The rooms are a good size and nice and clean.

The rooms are clean, but basic, not of 4 star standard.
