Hotel Birger Jarl Stockholm - 斯德哥尔摩

Well located on a quiet street at the northern edge of the modern city centre, the location of the hotel is within walking distance of the Central Terminal and the staff are all extremely pleasant.

The location is quiet ( a police station on one side and our rooms overlooked the roof of a church) but there are a couple of bars and restuarants very nearby.

Booked it because of its great price (for Stockholm) and its location.

One tip if you fly to Arlanda airport, the return train,the Arlanda Express is 360 SEK and a taxi from the train station to the Birger Jahl is 99 SEK each way.

17, plus 100 SEK approx by taxi to station which totals £24, and the trip from hotel to airport 40 miles away took only 40 minutes ( 20 of those minutes on train at around 120 MPH at times).

The room itself (on the third floor) was very small, but the bed was large and very comfy and it did have a lot of hidden facilities: iron and ironing board, hairdryer, loads of cupboard space, safe, fridge, desk, tv, two chairs, bath and shower.

Our room was excellent with a large comfortable bed, a balcony and a bath.

The bed was comfortable, bathroom good, and the room safe easy to use.

The room was cleverly designed with the very comfy bed at an angle allowing space for a litte sofa and desk/dressing table area.

We had a couple of meals in the hotel restaurant at night, both were good quality and perhaps a little cheaper than other restaurants around the area.

Breakfast buffet excellent, dinner in restaurant disappointing, limited menu, with average food.

The bar was very pleasant and the included buffet breakfast was plentiful, frequently refilled and there seemed to be about a dozen staff clearing plates and cups away.

I would recommend the hotel for cleanliness, fantastic staff, great breakfast, pleasant bar and newly decoarated, bright rooms but it is not central.

Extremely friendly and helpful reception staff (in particular Pelle was of great help to us) who gave us excellent travel tips for our son, such as Astrid Lindgren's "Junibacken".

Easy city break in Stockholm, the hotel is very clean and comfortable, helpful reception staff gave us excellent travel tips for our son.

The reception staff was friendly although a bit young and unexperienced, this meant that we on one occasion got wrong direction as well as got a table booked in the wrong name.

The gym and sauna are hidden away at the top of the building, a bit creepy up there.

The hotel offers internet access through a couple dedicated computers (free) or wireless LAN (for a fee).

Our room was on the small side but very clean, fresh, modern and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

We stayed in a corner room (double) that was spacious and very clean.

There was good storage space for clothes and a clean, bright bathroom with a good shower.

Rooms were small, but extremely clean, quiet and comfortable and great value (working out at £75 pp for 2 nights in total).

In addition the room was clean and the breakfast was good.
