  The main disadvantage of this hotel is though it was mentioned that it is 10 minutes walk from the station - we found that the distance is not walkable when you have luggage. Taxis are very expensive in Zermatt and we were also ripped by the hotel's own rate. I think this hotel merits to be a 2-star instead of a 3-star - as I found the customer service apalling!

• Vom Hotel Adonis begeistert

  Wir haben im August 2005 zwei Nächte in diesem Hotel verbracht. Ein recht charmantes Hotel. Wir buchten das Zimmer über Booked.net. Wir kamen recht spät am Abend in Zermatt an (gegen 20.30 Uhr), zu dem Zeitpunkt fuhr das Hoteltaxi schon nicht mehr. Sie sagten uns, dass wenn wir vor 19 Uhr angekommen wären, hätte uns das Hoteltaxi noch abholen können. Am Bahnhof waren jedoch Taxis und wir sind dann mit einem zum Hotel gefahren. Der Angestellte an der Rezeption war sehr nett. Das Foyer, die Bar und der Essraum waren sehr gemütlich und komfortabel. Wir bekamen ein Zimmer im ersten Stock. Vom Fenster aus hatte man eine wunderbare Sicht auf die Berge. Das Zimmer war recht komfortabel mit schönen Betten und einem sehr sauberen Bad. Die Schränke am Bett hatten auch genug Stauraum. Das Personal am Empfang war wirklich hilfsbereit und hat uns die Wegbeschreibung in die Berge gegeben usw. Das Frühstück war gut, die Auswahl war aber nicht so groß wie in den Hotels in Paris und London, wo wir vorher waren. Aber die gemütliche Atmosphäre und das freundliche Personal haben auf uns einen positiven Eindruck hinterlassen. Das Zimmer war auch größer als in ein paar anderen Hotel, in denen wir in Europa übernachtet hatten. Ich war vom Hotel begeistert und kann es anderen empfehlen. Wenn ich noch einmal nach Zermatt reise, würde ich auch wieder dort hin gehen.

  The receptionist at the front desk was extremely nice. The foyer and the bar and the dining room are quite cosy and comfortable. We were given a room on the second floor (first floor, by European conventions). The window opened up to give us a wonderful view of the mountain. Also, the cabinets beside the bed provided adequate storage options. The front desk staff were really helpful and gave us directions to the mountain etc. The breakfast was good, though the variety was less compared to the other hotels we stayed at in Paris, and London. But the cozy environment and the friendly staff left a very good impression.
