The location is in downtown Boise and near all the shopping, restaurants and just a little walk (10 min?
We picked this hotel because of its location and our desire to leave our car parked and walk around downtown.
The central location of this hotel was great: right downtown, within walking distance of everything you'd want in downtown Boise.
The shuttle from the airport is worth mentioning as well.
There was a well-equipped desk area/work station and very comfortable reading chair and ottoman.
The separate toilet/shower area was large, but the shower/tub itself felt very small and dated (despite the rest of the room and bathroom feeling very newly remodeled).
The room was attractively decorated, the bed was very comfortable, the view was great, and overall it was clean and quiet.
The tub was large, centered between the bathroom and sleeping room, romantic with curtains with nice flowing water feature.
Larger than average rooms, very comfortable bed and bedding, very friendly staff and great location.
I had a fifth floor room and it was on the small side, the king bed, although very comfortable, dominated the room.
I can also recommend a breakfast restaurant in "Old Boise" (only 6-7 blocks away) called "Le Poulet Rouge".
The only problems with the Statehouse inn were that the water pressure in the shower was not very strong and the breakfast voucher they gave us wasn't used because the restaurant was too crowded.
I would head out on foot, since you are in the heart of downtown, and find one of the good breakfast spots and/or coffee shops.
It is very centrally located and if you are there on the weekend you have got to check out the Farmer's Market and a great place for lunch or dinner is the 8th Street Wine Bar.
You are one block from the newest shopping area with fun shops and restaurants, and all of downtown is just a few blocks away.
Great location downtown, i wouldn't stay here again unless they paid me and the front desk staff was always accomodating.

On my last trip I noticed most of the staff who I have come to know have disapeared, so has most of the services.
Another thing about this hotel was the annoying generic music that played all the time in the elevators and lobby and restaurant.
Easy free parking that is always available.
The rich brown, black and red tones give a feeling of elegance right when you walk into the lobby.
Decor was fresh and modern and our room was very clean.
The room we had was a boutique king; it was clean and well appointed, but nothing really special.
