  When I arrived, the two different reservations had different rooms, but the desk staff quickly moved one over to the other room so we'd have continuity during our stay. We liked the layout-- the 1BR suite was roomier than most other HW's we've stayed in. The desk staff was helpful with other questions and requests, from locating cocoa late at night to getting us surfing the web. Our laptop had no wireless card, but the desk provided a free external card during the stay that hooked up easily and worked well. We could then take advantage of the free hi-speed internet access. Hotel also has a "biz center" with a pc and printer. I didn't realize it until I ran into a maintenance guy in the elevator our last night, but they have some DVD players available upon request. A breakfast person kept everything well stocked and cleaned, plus I saw an assistent mgr some mornings.

  We have stayed at several Homewood Suites in the past years, becuase we require. We spent Memorial day week-end (2 nights) at Homewood Suites, NW San Antonio. The suite was very hot & we had to buy a fan to stay cool. Decor was very outdated & carpet & furniture seemed to be dirty. I would not recommend this particular Homewood Suites.

  Staff - All of the staff from top to bottom were very courteous and eager to help. Our room was spotless when we arrived, there were no unpleasant smells or noises, and everything worked. The pool was nice, fitness room was small but adequate, and the location is near a multitude of shopping places and restaurants. Not only was the food good but there were at least two people who constantly attended to the food and made sure things did not run out. Beware of relying on the sleeper sofa in each room for sleeping purposes.

  Having two TVS and a separate bedroom is what makes this ideal for families with older children/teens. Our room had two double beds and a pull out sofa where our teen slept. The pool area is quite small though and didn't appeal to our kids.

  The breakfast served each morning had make-your-own waffles (in the shape of Texas) and another hot entree in addition to the usual cold breakfast fare.

  The Homewood Suites was a great hotel. Our room was very large and comfortable. The two TV's are great. The morning breakfast and evening light meal were great when you have kids. The hotel staff was very friendly.

  I was greeted every time I walked past the front desk. Everything worked fine but the lights in the vanity area and bathroom took a few seconds to flicker on. The hotel offers their Welcome Home Reception Monday - Thursday nights. Overall, the minor "problems" were overshadowed by the great customer service experienced here.

  As far as the visual aspect goes, this Homewood Suites is very inviting. The lobby has plenty of room to sit down and relax. As I was heading down the hallway on the fourth floor, you could easily recognize the smell of smoke coming from one of the rooms.

  We loved everything about this place.
  From the moment we arrived everyone we encountered was great. They have a wonderful
  hot breakfast, you can even make fresh TEXAS shaped waffles with the kids. Exercise room
  was nice, two computers w/ internet access
  if you didn't bring your own. Small pool
  but it was immaculate and sparkling.
  We went to Seaworld and it wasn't 3 miles away more like 15 but it was well worth it to be in such nice place. Seaworld wasn't that hard to find either. Would go back in a minute.

  The rooms are old and has a grandma country furniture look, not very appealing or comfortable. On the plus side, the parking is free as well as the wireless Internet.

  We spent three nights in a two bedroom suite with two couples and three children. The customer service was detailed and wonderful --from the person who booked us over the phone-- to the front desk people at check-in and check-out --and even the maids. Our suite was decorated pleasantly with a southwestern theme. It was clean and thoughtfully stocked with kitchen and bath amenities.

  The complementary hot evening meal that we had on Thursday evening and the complementary hot breakfasts each morning were delicious, abundant, and watched over carefully by employees willing to help us with using the Texas-shaped waffle maker, wipe down tables, or refill containers.
