Great location, i've stayed at hotel/motels for more money that were not this nice and excellent service by putting the bill under the door we were sleeping during the night.
Since our price for the hotel was good from Booked.net we just can't complain too much but would much rather have been in Holiday Inn By the Bay.
The hotel is located by the freeway and is a bit tricky to find but I guess the location is not their fault.
This hotel has a convienient location which makes it easy to get around town.
If you're up and out early, this is a fine location with a very helpful and friendly staff.
It is approximately 10 minutes to Gas Lamp Quarter, Horton Plaza, San Diego Intl Airport, about 15 minutes to Old Town, 5 minutes to Little Italy.
Stopped at Ralph's (groc store in downtown area) where we bought some goodies to eat the next morning because the small dining area within the complex wouldn't be open til 6 am and we had to go to airport by 5:15 am.
They were also flexible about choosing the type of room, king bed, etc even though i bought it on Booked.net.
And yes, the bathroom is small and the toilet area even smaller ((why no fans in bathrooms anymore?
However, the receptionist said that none were availabe and we ended up in this tiny room with only one bed and to top it all off it faced the freeway.
Our beds were smaller than my son's full size bed.
Our room had the basic 2 double beds, TV (basic cable with HBO.
The restaurant really is more of a coffee shop.
Customer friendly staff and helpful, good breakfast.
Close to bay, close to good restaurants, close to interstate, close to airport and car rentals.
The hotel's restaurant was very good and staff was extremely helpful.
It would have been nice to have a complimentary continental breakfast (free coffee in the lobby would have been nice).
It seems that the receptionist deliberately gave us the worst room possible since it says Booked.net on the reservation.

75 per call, Local No Jacuzzi Tiny Pool Fitness Room in a closet Walked all night in down town San Diego- Why?
My kids enjoyed the small pool (nobody was there) and I got to use the little fitness room (had 2 treadmills, bike, stairstepper, benchpress and ham curl machine).
The only negative for the hotel is the 12 dollar charge for parking in their own lot that is connected to the hotel.
Complimentary wireless internet and the very quick check-in.
The FREE high speed internet was a great surprise.
Older hotel but staff was very helpful and room was nice and clean with a good downtown view.
However, I must say that our room was very clean and modern and the staff was excellent.
But I was happy to find out I was on the 10th floor, in a clean, non smoking room with a semi-great view of the harbor.
