Holiday Inn Resort Damai Beach Kuching - 古晋

At least the service at Damai Beach is friendly and especially because the location is so beautiful.

Very safe swimming in a very warm sea, great location and its a very nice place.

Great location and an accommodating hotel.

Took over 1 hour in a taxi (US$15) in heavy traffic to get from Kuching airport to resort and just under an hour on the return (US$20).

The only downside to our stay was that due the remoteness of the resort, any taxis booked had to travel from Kuching, which increased prices, however our taxi driver was wonderfully helpful, and we really enjoyed our journeys.

The layout of the suite with its large patio doors means the views can be had whilst lying in bed - brilliant!

They were clued onto the fact we are a family of 4 and had a replacement suite with king bed and 2 extra singles.

When we entered the room, once again we were very happy to see that it's such a big room for us with 2 queen size bed.

Room size is good and the bathroom has Jacuzzi and separate shower cubicle.

Had requested 2 queen beds which was not available due to airconditioning problem in assigned suite.

The breakfast has a reasonable selection, didn't try lunch or dinner as there are plenty of restaurants nearby.

There are several seafood restaurants in the area that serve fabulous food for ridiculously low prices (four of us could eat very large meals consisting of fresh crab, fish, etc.

The omlette bar was great and a day or so of the breakfast buffet was fine.

Breakfasts were good with fresh fruit & the omelette bar easily filling us up for the day.

No night life/entertainment at all except for a couple of entertainers with guitar and violin doing the rounds of the restaurants/bar in the evening.

Staff were polite and room service was excellent.

Service could be better, the staff are always friendly always found rooms clean and food delivery can be slow even not busy.

On the contrary, we found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful, and on the 3 occasions we did dine in the resort restaurants, service was quick and efficient.

Facilities there look even more tired than the Damai Beach, and the restaurant's food is not much better, and service is very slow and staff look very disinterested.

I think the place gets a lot of customers as the grounds were a little bit "tired" but the room supplied (garden view in the 2 storey block near the main pool) was huge, really well appointed, quiet and spotlessly clean.

The hilltop pool is underused and views are good from the adjacent terrace.

All the staff at Damai Beach were friendly and hotel room was very nice and clean.

The staff is really friendly and the rooms are clean.

The beach was great - clean, the view was fantastic even from my room and the quality of food was very good.

My room is huge, clean, comfortable and quiet.

The room was a bit dated, but spotless and very roomy.
