  Room good sized and clean but overlooked an electricity sub station which `hummed' all night so not too much sleep. Had a good meal in the restaurant and also breakfast next day - both reasonably priced. Service generally good but had 2 bills for breakfast - neither of them correct but gave up in the end and paid one as it was a comparable price to what we had eaten.

  The staff was welcoming and obviously proud of the recent improvements. The rooms are spacious, beautifully appointed, and the beds very comfortable. The bar lounge was a good time with very friendly people and terrific.

  We had the opportunity to eat in the hotel restaurant and found the menu and the food to be far superior to typical hotel food - in fact it was some of the very best in Missoula!

  The reservation agent was very brusque and unprofessional. I offered to hold the reservation through my credit card. She explained that was not acceptable, that I would have to fax my ID and copy of my credit card front and back to this hotel before they would accept a reservation.

  This hotel is steps away from some great micro breweries, pubs and restaurants. The shopping is great too, lots of local independent shops with great, funky selection. The front desk staff made really good recommendations for places to go. Rooms have been recently renovated and are well appointed.

  We arrived on a Sunday so all was quiet but we noticed there were no carpets in the corridors on our floor. The services on the ground floor and basement are fine, the work has been completed there. Several rooms on our floor were undergoing major renovation and we could not access the main lift to get our luggage out. Fortunately we were able to use the service lift and exit via the kitchens. Our room looked renovated but suffered a grave shortage of electric plugs and had a poky little coffee maker that only made one cup at a time. The only way we could plug in the light at the desk was to trail it diagonally across the corner of the room to a socket on another wall.

  While this hotel is in a wonderful location and does offer great internet connection, our stay was marred by construction noise and dirt. While food from the resturant was fine eating there was like eating in a conference room.

  Who wants an alarm clock that is construction being done at 6:00 am in the room above you? Wall paper hangers making noise outside your door at 7:00 am and fumes from paint and wall paper force you out of your room very early in the morning. At no time during my calls to make reservations or to confirm reservations was I advised that I'd have to take the long way around to my room because halls were blocked off for construction.

  The rooms to me were like super 8 rooms.

  The elevator took half a century and apparently using stairs was not an option as all of the stairwells said emergency use only.

  They allowed me to check in early, and gave me a room facing the river. It was great; I could open the window for fresh air and hear the water rushing by at night. The pool is long enough to swim laps in, which is hard to find in a hotel pool. My room was clean, very large for the price, and everything worked. I wish holiday inns would get rid of the plactic cups in the rooms and go back to glass. Anyway, a nice hotel in a great location close to everything cool in Missoula.

  We love this hotel for it's downtown location, and have been lucky to stay here in the past when it's been rather empty and quiet. At our last stay, the hotel was holding a convention (it's quite popular for that, as the meeting rooms are excellent). The noises from the hallway outside our sleeping room made it really hard to get a decent night's rest, or even an afternoon nap. The walls between rooms are so thin you can hear your neighbor clearly.

  The good news was that in general the rooms were clean.

  The Lounge was closed, the restaurant expensive for what was served, the coffee, horrendous. The business center consisted of one computer. The fitness center consisted of two treadmills, a stepper and a broken down bike. Ceilings were leaking, our bathtub didn't drain and no one fixed it despite repeated calls.
