Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Grande Prairie - 大草原城

I opted to take a taxi back to the airport rather than arrive too early or too late.

On my stay here in November 2007, the shuttle was waiting at the airport to greet me (they are there for all flights so no need to call ahead).

Noise carries from the halls into the rooms with little interference, as does bathroom water noise from adjoining and higher rooms (we were on the 3rd floor).

Rooms were clean and for a jaquizi suite it was fairly inexpensie (230CAN$).

I was in an upgraded executive room with 2 queen beds.

The hotel staff, however, was excellent - both friendly and professional, and having free hi-speed Internet in the room made my life much easier.

I think most rooms have a mini-fridge and microwave also.

Restaurant: I would suggest eating elsewhere since the restaurant is overpriced for what you get.

No breakfast here, and the attached resturant in pretty pricey.

There is a Kelseys and a few other restaurants in the power centre across the street.

Do not eat at the resturant for supper, I ate there two nights in a row and was very dissapointed.

I paided $30 for a prime rib steak and it was like eating hard leather, I could not believe it!

To make a long story short the service was fantastic,!

The airport lost my luggage and the front desk went above and beyond to make my stay as comfortable possible.

Airport Transportation: They have an unreliable hotel shuttle that leaves once an hour and services it's sister hotels: the Pomeroy Inn and the Best Western.

Staff will get you in and out as quickly as you can.

Pool area looks quite good - very clean, from a distance looks great and heating was fairly quiet.

Nice to have indoor heated parking in the winter.

They have newspapers in the front lobby but they can be a day old.

The food at the hotel's Barcelona restauant was good and rooms were clean.
