Not a destination hotel, and not a walking area, but rather a good money saver if you rather spend your money on attractions, shopping, restaurants, and Sunday brunch at the "Del".
We booked a competitor's hotel for the same price and had a great time amd their pool was much larger and cleaner.
It sounded like a good location but when we arrived it is situated behind an auto repair shop on a busy intersection.
The location next to a McDonalds, a self-storage facility and the freeway is really odd, and it seems like you are checking into a transient motel.
The location was wonderful and the hotel staff was pleasant and helpful.
Convenient location, pacific Beach so that was cool and overall the hotel was great - spacious.
The location is great, it is near so many of the attractions in San Diego.
Room was fine, actually more upscale than I expected, bed nothing special, bathroom small, but it was clean.
Clean and spacious bedroom, clean bathroom; microwave and refigerator in room.
Even though I had pre paid for my room and it was totally non refundable, I would have picked up my family and went to a differnent hotel in the middle of the night if i wasnt too exhausted to get out of bed.
Also, the bath, toilet and sink are all in one room so it made it harder for multiple people to get dressed in the morning.
I found the bed(s) to be extremely comfortable with two choices of pillows (soft or firm), which I thought was a nice touch for sensitive sleepers.
Staff was very friendly, rooms were clean and the free hot breakfast bar was plentiful.
Breakfast area was nice and food was tasty and fresh.

The Hot Breakfast wasn't the greatest but there were lots of options with regards to bagels and english muffins, baked goods, cereals, coffee and juices.
Excellent service from ALL staff and clean bathroom.
The hotel itself is nothing that will knock your socks off but the Customer Service was top notch and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly.
Lots of shady characters walking around outside the area - didn't feel safe, kept our vehicle in the top parking near lobby so more people would walk by and see it.
Parking is on two levels and the elevator is very slow.
Didn't see the pool area, or try out the wi-fi or notice if hotel had a gym or not.
In addition free Wi-Fi is pretty standard now.
