This hotel is a great value for the money.

Overall the visit was very pleasant and a VERY good value compared to other hotels in the general vicinity.

We read all the reviews before booking a hotel and chose this one based on price and location.

We selected the hotel because of the excellent reviews we saw on Trip Advisor for the Chief Concierge, Kevin McQuade, the location and the value.

The location of this hotel is very conveniently located in the Historic district which allows you to walk to all the sites!

It is in a great location where you can walk to everything you want to see in the Historic District and located near some of the best places to eat and drink.

It's situated on Calhoun Street and is in a pretty central location.

It would have paid for itself as the plantations and certain other tours require transportation (lighthouse tour would have been $25 each way had we not been able to share a ride), and the cab fee to the airport is about $20 each way.

However, for the city that is supposedly the most polite in the nation, those voting must have grown up in a subway station because I would not say any other aspect of service was polite or helpful.

The rooms were above the standards for a Holiday Inn, but our room had scratched furniture, some stained bathroom fixtures, no showercaps, and one afternoon the bath towels had gone missing.

The lobby is elegantly furnished and our room was spacious, the bed very comfortable and bathroom nice and large.

Our king room was large, clean and comfortable (great bed), including the bathroom.

The decor was peaceful, our beds and linens were cozy, towels were plush, amenties were ample, and our room and bathroom were spacious and clean.

The room had two double beds and was very large with a marble floored bathroom, gold faucets, and super thick towels.

The bar is sufficiently dark and cozy and the restaurant serves a pretty good breakfast.

We ate the breakfast buffet in the hotel restaurant every day (5 days in a row!

They also do not provide a complimentary breakfast, but the downstairs restaurant was very nice and had much better food than any complimentary breakfast I've ever eaten.

They have a killer buffet for breakfast, so don't go out and try to find a restaurant, just eat in.

Each evening he recommended a number of restaurants, with menus, and each restaurant he recommended was fabulous.

As I said, everyone was very respectful and courteous, from the front desk folks to the cleaning staff to the restaurant personnel to the concierge.

The front desk employees were extremely polite and helpful, as predicted the concierge was great, the room service was prompt.

The entire Holiday Inn staff-- from the front desk to room service-- is unfailingly helpful and positive.

Stayed: January 2005: Not only is the hotel central to the Historic District of beautiful Charleston, but the service from bellman to front desk staff to restaurant staff was superb.

Nice hotel features include a secluded parking lot, outdoor pool, attractive lobby and above average restaurant.

It was way too cold for us to use the pool, but we walked by it on our way to the parking lot and it looked very nice.

The fitness center and pool were well kept.

The rooms were spotless, staff congenial, and bowls of fresh fruit always available in the lobby.

The hotel itself is nice, the staff is marvelous and the rooms are clean and adequate.

Room are clean, the dinner menu is great.

The staff is always friendly, the rooms are big and clean.

Wonderful Hotel with large clean rooms and very friendly happy staff.

    The hotel is clean and that great customer service means repeat business. Furthermore bathrooms are big.

    Nice little hotel bar and the staff was very accomodating and attentive. The bathroom was large.

    The wonderful staff at this hotel, the complimentary Concierge service superb and i initially looked for a romantic Bed. Additionally the free coffee, chef Ken Vedrinksi creates delicious tasting menus and great Italian. Beautiful gardens.

    The location of this hotel is very conveniently located in the Historic district which allows you to walk to all the sites! The buffet breakfast was not as well stocked as it could have been, but the food was good. The concierge was excellent, offering to customize our stay.

    Long Beach, the location was on the edge of the historic district and the hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. The front desk was extremely gracious and helpful, concierge all had a part in making this vacation great. Our room was fine, all restaurants were absolutely wonderful and the pool was nice.

    The location was excellent and the hotel staff was very pleasant. The complimentary turn-down service was nice, the employees were extremely friendly and helpful, the room was clean. The food was awesome, the dinner reservations he made were wonderful.
