Finding a decent hotel in the San Diego area for a decent price isn't always easy- especially in the summertime, when it seems that everyone flocks to this place of perfect weather!
Well located for day trips to San Diego, nice hotel and for the price I expected somewhat better.
The hotel needs updating but for the price and the area, it was pretty good.
Bottom line, we were willing to spend a lot of money to change hotels instead of using our free nights.
The area soiled was large and the location of this hotel was great.
The location is great - only a couple of minutes drive to Legoland and the staff of this hotel is very nice.
The location was perfect for us and the Carlsbad by the sea was a very nice property.
Near the beach, the pool is nice for kids as has a large shallow area and the best thing about this hotel is 's location.
It was an older Holiday Inn with a good location and nice pool.
Due to the size of the room, the TV was too far away to watch from bed.
BUT more positives - our room (166) was very clean, spacious, vanity sink outside of toilet/tub & shower room, small microwave, and small refrigerator.
Our room was a king bed on first floor (room 153).
The rooms look like they've been renovated recently and our room with 2 queen beds was roomy enough for our family of four.
The room and bathroom were very clean and the beds were very comfortable.
They also have a TGI Friday's restaurant on site at the hotel which has a great hot breakfast buffet and kids eat free.
The room was renovated, but the restaurant needs a lot of help - it's a little dark and cavernous for a breakfast.
A small shortcoming: no breakfast is served, you have to walk to Ruby's across the street or, a bit further, to TipTop down the road for a solid German meal.
One was for a free meal for our toddler and the other was for one free breakfast meal for only one of us.
We opted to go to Carlsbad Village and eat dinner and breakfast by the beach.
Everyone on the staff from the front desk to our maid service were not only helpful but went out of their way to make our stay pleasant.
The service was good and the check-in staff were friendly and helpful.
The location was perfect for us, the staff at this hotel were very friendly and helpful, the service was good.
However I will always remember the kind staff and the great attitude of the woman at the front desk.
There was lot of children's screaming and laughing in the pool and spa area.
The pool and jacuzzi are nice and clean towels were provided.
There was a fitness center and laundry facilities on-site, as well as a Budget car rental desk in the main lobby.
The nice pool made a very special stay, the staff was friendly and efficient, the rooms were clean.
Hotel was clean, our room was very quiet the proximity to the freeway and the staff was friendly and helpful.
Moreover bathroom were spotless and the pool was nice.

The great attitude of the woman at the front desk, the rooms are very large and clean.
