Holiday Inn Alicante-Playa De San Juan - 阿里坎特

Nice hotel bad location unless you have a car.

Earlier reviews indicated the hotel was some way out of Alicante, which indeed it is, but depending what you are looking for, we found it to be in an ideal location.

All in all, a hotel I would recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy a relaxing quiet location without the traditional British boozers and fish and chip shops.

To Alicante Airport: Taxis from the airport to the hotel are readily available in the taxi stand outside the arrivals area.

If you don't want to pay the 20-25 euro taxi fare to the airport, there's an airport bus which leaves from outside the Alicante port area (near the Melia Hotel) for just 1 euro.

The cost was €94 per night for an en suite room with king size bed and an “almost double” sofa bed.

Room size was above average and very clean as indeed was the bathroom complete with over bath shower.

Unlike most hotel sofa beds, the bed at the Holiday Inn was very comfortable and actually allowed you to have a full night's sleep!

The bathroom consisted of the standard toilet, washbasin and a bathtub with an overhead adjustable shower (which you could detach from the wall).

An excellent feature of this particular hotel is that they do not operate a “towel reserves the bed” policy as is performed in many other European hotels.

Perfectly adequate hotel, clean rooms, friendly staff, good bar and a very decent breakfast.

Most of the main staff have good english, such as in the restaurant /bar and reception.

The hotel had a main restaurant area where breakfast was served.

The restaurant is actually surprisingly good and good value for an evening meal if you don't feel like going out.

We did not use the hotel restaurant for dinner, but other guests we spoke to said their meals were fine.

There are always at least 2 staff on reception and they are very friendly and helpful.

Restaurant prices are reasonable and the waiting staff were very good with their service.

The swimming pool at the hotel is well laid out and usually quiet.

Due to the time of our visit (mid October), the pool area was lightly used, although the temperature certainly brought a few out to sunbathe, but the pool itself was virtually unused for the duration of our stay.

The fairly large pool and surrounding areas are well designed and very clean.

Booked it because it has wi-fi, so I could stay in touch with my business while away.

Wi-fi connection is poor, had about 30 minutes connection over the 6 days there.

Friendly accomodating staff, good food and good clean air conditioned rooms.

Cool and clean rooms and staff were pleasent enough without being overbearing.
