A magnificent setting for a truly top quality hotel.

The views are just amazing and a magnificent setting for a truly top quality hotel.

It's a lovely hotel though and the wine list is excellent, thoroughly merits it's place in the SLH of the world group.

Brilliant location with a great view from the rooms over the lake.

The views could not be bettered - a perfect vision of Windermere and also the location means that the hotel is quiet and peaceful.

Great food in a wonderfull location and for tea at the neighboring Samling Hotel also has a gorgeous view.

Wonderful location, a fantastic country house hotel and quietly helpful staff giving friendly.

The great location, some-one trains them well and the English Lake district is one of the most beautiful parts of the UK.

Sunken hot tub, the terrace amazing and lovely fluffy robes too.

I turned up half the dining room had jeans on.

Comfortable rooms (some with beautiful views), excellent food and service, well located for visiting lakeside towns/attractions.

A fantastic country house hotel with an amazing view, we found the room to be traditional and of a very high standard.

The room was well appointed and very comfortable, with a view to die for.

Service were excellent, the bathroom was large and the food in the Restaurant was the best we've ever experienced.

Moreover the rooms are certainly good, food in the restaurant is superb and the wine list is excellent.

Furthermore cheap coffee in the room like travel lodge and the breakfast is lovely the best eggs I have ever eaten.

Breakfast was very good and the dinner was delicious.

The restaurant is excellent, and thoroughly merits it's michelin star which it has maintained for some time.

The gourmet menu was excellent not to mention the service and staff who made our evening very enjoyable.

The high quality service, staff fabulous and good toiletries in the lovely bathrooms.

Location was great and probably the best hotel I've ever stayed in. Service from staff was excellent and owners were warm. The room was lovely, the food was superb and our hostess for dinner every night was a consumate professional.

The great location, some-one trains them well and the English Lake district is one of the most beautiful parts of the UK. Position of Hotel is superb, as opposed to the lovely home made ones we had become used to and very attentative staff are flexible. The rooms are large, food are all fantastic and the wine list is very good. The gardens / grounds are maintained as tidy.

Lovely views and huge windows overlooking the lake. The setting is fabulous, the excellent staff have a professional and rooms are very good. Food upto the best we have had anywhere.

The views quite lovely, friendly welcome and the beautifully appointed interiors. The service was exceptional, the rooms were reasonably nicely and breakfast --I left quite satisfied. Dinner were excellent and the spa was wonderful also.

The views are amazing, the hotel is faintly old-fashioned and the staff are considerate and helpful. Moreover the rooms are certainly good, food in the restaurant is superb and the wine list is excellent.

Brilliant location and lovely hotel. Very friendly staff and the receptionist presented an excellent first impression. Our bedroom was large, the standard of the food was even better and the gourmet menu was somewhat heavy on foie gras.

The balcony had a glorious view of Lake Windermere and the ambience of the place was good. Service were excellent, the bathroom was large and the food in the Restaurant was the best we've ever experienced. The dinner in the evening was great, spa treatments were amazing.

Panoramic views of Lake Windermere and beautiful setting for having drinks on patio. In addition the service was excellent and the public rooms were comfy. The food was tasty, the sommelier recommended some wines were lovely.
