All in all, the hotel was OK, it is likely somewhere between a 3 & 4, but is good value for the money.
I think it rates a 4 star, providing great value for money but it is an older hotel/spa, yet well maintained.
I don't know how much they had to pay to get a 4+ rating at this hotel, but it was money well spent.
To everyone:This hotel has style and is worth the money you pay.
Hola is a great location, very close to downtown and the marina.
We stayed at the Royal Decameron with our kids 2 years ago and that was good as well but the location and the beach and the overall atmosphere at the Hola was much more fun for our children.
Our hotel was in the perfect location to take the bus to Old Town, to the flea market (about a 10 minute ride) or to their Super Wal-Mart store about 10 blocks the other direction - we even walked back to the hotel.
Take a taxi from the Airport to the Hotel.
The only redeeming factors are that it is close to the airport and downtown and the views from the room are marvelous (however the balcony is literally only three foot deep and I can't help but wonder how many people have fallen over the railings).
The bathrooms seemed to need some work, well actually the whole suite needed TLC, but was always clean, swept, fresh towels, bed made.
When we arrived at the hotel, we moved quickly through check-in and off to our room, which only had a king bed - we were a family of 4 - 2 adults and 2 children, so we were immediately moved to another room to with 2 double beds.
We arrived at the resort to find that we had been checked into a room with 2 twin beds instead of a queen, this made sleeping in the same bed difficult.
Our king bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning worked great in our room (again I don't know what those other cry babies were talking about).
ROOM - Our room was fine except for the rock hard bed.
I have tummy issues so I can't eat a lot of traditional mexican food so I had yogurt and granola for breakfast with coffee (slip your waiter 50 pesos and he'll bring you kaluah even though the bar doesn't open til 1000) and yummy pastries.
The food was great in all the restaurants even the bar -food had alot of variety.
The food was a good for breakfast and the snack bar was okay.
Food was good and they tried to have a good variety; salad bar was available at every lunch & dinner, and fresh fruit always out for breakfast.
The restaurants always seemed to open a few minutes late and food service at the a la carte restaurant was very slow.
From the Front desk and the incompetant manager to the concierge a rude, aweful lady to the bar / weight staff who wouldn't serve you on a regular basis if you were Canadian / American, it was mind boggling to think guest could be treated this way.
I have stayed in all inclusives in Cabo San Lucas, Cancun and now PV and rate this one right up there with cleanliness, service from the staff and courtesy.
The hotel staff were always very friendly and outgoing and provided excellent service!
Bathroom and room is dated and old, hotel elevator shakes, musty smell in room and in lobby, pool is small and the food, particulary the dinner is yucky.
We made use of the fully equipped and supervised Gym everyday for the Cardio machines , the classes that included Pilates , Yoga , Ab Workouts , in the fitness centre and a full gym with free weights and machines.
Go up to the spa for the heated indoor jacuzzi (something we didn't discover until the last half of our stay).
We brought a laptop but couldn't get a wireless connection on it.
The hotel is spotless and the rooms are very clean and spacious.
First of all it was clean, the rooms, the pool, the beach all spotless.
Our room was well kept very clean we left a $1 per day for the maid (our choice)and had face clothes , fancy soaps , body lotion , she made fancy swans , sail boats , bunnies from our towells and face clothes.
Our room and the entire building was very clean.
Room was always clean, maids did a great job.

All the rooms have an ocean view, are well appointed and very clean. The food was well prepared although not a huge selection of dishes to choose from. I have traveled a lot and found the staff to be the most efficient and friendly I have ever met.
