However, there are currently better deals where you get more value for your money (like the Prince Conti hotel) than the French Market Inn.
The service was good, rooms were clean, and the hotel has a Wi-Fi hot spot, but for a price.
And you get this all at a much better price than most of the swankier hotels in the Quarter.
For the price and location, this hotel cannot be beat.
The Historic French Market Inn on Decatur street is a great location and the hotel is kind of close to the Steamship Nanchez docks.
The location is great and is very close to all the sights of the city.
The location is right in the middle of everything,yet room was quiet.
Even if the desk clerk is on the surly side - which our check-in clerk was - it's always best to put on a smile and put your best foot forward.
We had to check out around 7:30 AM to get to the airport, so again, we got very little sleep.
No windows, dirty carpets, stained linens, no room to move (I had to turn to my side just to fit past the bed to get to the bathroom, and trust me, I'm very petite) and finally, black scuff marks all over the walls.
The room was very clean, the bathroom recently redone, and a nice comfy bed.
I booked a room with two beds, since my husband and I brought our 6 year old (who had to sleep with us) since we received one queen bed.
We had a suite of rooms: living room, bedroom and kitchen.
Room was newly remodeled and was actually pretty nice for such an old historic hotel (hardwood floors with rugs, tiled bathrooms, chandelier, stand up shower but no bath, good plumbing, hot & cold water, room temperature was adjustable and fine).
Plenty of restaurants are close by (unless you are departing early and then good luck on finding breakfast).
Check in was very easy and the staff professional and curteous, gave me directions and suggestions on where to eat and go bar hunting.

The location is super, in a recent stay at the Historic French Market Inn and the concierge at the front desk is great too.
Furthermore the service was good, our room was very large the staff was very friendly.
Again, the staff, the service and the hotel was over the top.
The outdoor pool is more of a Jacuzzi measuring about six feet by six feet and about four foot deep.
What finally drove us over the edge was the fact that there is no valet parking so you have to utilize a garage around the corner which we did know in advance.
No pool, but we weren't expecting to spend our time hanging out at the hotel.
As someone else mentioned, we did have do go into the courtyard to get the wireless internet, but that was very pleasant, the courtyard itself is beautiful, and, really, you're in New Orleans!
The staff was amazingly friendly and kind, the rooms were well furnished clean.
