Although the close proximity of Metro makes getting anywhere easy, the location isn't the best if you are primarily wanting to be close to the monuments/national mall area.

The location is great for a sight seeing trip to the city with both the Metro and numerous good restaurants nearby.

The location can't be beat--very close to the Dupont Circle Metro and near many great restaurants and shops.

You can visit the most important sights via foot or take the metro station nearby, the hotel is old.

Only a 3-minute walk up the street to the Dupont Circle Metro station.

The room was clean, the bathroom ample and the bed v comfy.

Room was nice overall: good bed, space enough for our portable crib, clean bathroom.

The hallways look dated and need updating and the windows in the rooms ( or at least my suite ) need to be updated with double pane glass because it was cold outside and it could be felt in my room.

We were given a smallish room with a queen bed and an interior view on the 2d floor of the hotel.

Since I was here for a business conference, I was with colleagues for breakfast, dinner and drinks at other places and cannot comment on the in-house bar or restaurant.

During the one time I went to their restaurant for the breakfast buffet, several people who had gone up to the buffet for more food came back to find that their tables had been given to other parties.

Also walking distance to good, reasonably priced restaurants: Pizzeria Paradiso, Teaism and Starbucks (for $3 breakfast sandwiches).

Breakfast was served downstairs in the International Marketplace restaurant.

I must say that we did not try the restaurant any other time as breakfast had put us off.

First, the service was very nice, from the front desk staff to the bellhops.

They staff was usually very friendly and tried to be helpful, although the waiters in the restaurant "hovered" as opposed to providing professional service.

The elevators were slow and the restaurant was an unappealing corner of the lobby.

And, there is no AC in the elevators, hallways, or, apparently, the lobby area.
