Yes it's an elegant old school hotel with a strong pedigree but SO NOT WORTH THE PRICE!
This should not have happened at this so called luxury hotel with over 300 euros per night that we were paying!
Grand old structure at a beautiful location of Palermo away from the noise and traffic.
Facilities definitely need fixing but still the best location for Palermo as long as one knows what to expect.
Cannot think of other hotel in Palermo with great views/quiet location.
This hotel is out of the centre of Palermo so if you didn't have a hire car then you would need to take taxis everywhere as it isn't walking distance from the centre.
Hotel has adequate parking, but Palermo has no parking and so best to use taxis; it is a long walk into town.
The living room, bedroom and the bathroom were spacious and elegantly outfitted.
The front desk clerk acted exasperated with us for requesting the bed to be a king and seemed shocked and stressed out that we'd be willing to change rooms over it.
Instead they "locked" the beds together and had the maids remake it as a king bed; like a previous review said, it unnervingly jiggled around every night.
1/6 occupancy I was upgraded straight away to sea view room 232(was even able to choose my room) with very high ceilings, great views, prob 42" TV screen, great marble bath and balcony, complimentary sweets/drinks and a very late 6pm check out.
Upon arrival in our room, we found: insufficient A/C, two single beds separately made (we'd requested a king), and an unworking lamp and phone on the nightstand.
There was an exercise room, pool bar and restaurant, main bar and luxury dining room.
The staff was very professional and warm, the restaurant was lovely for both breakfast and dinner, and the room was beautiful.

The room was beautiful, watching the sunset at the waterfront bar was a enjoyable start to the night and the terrace was excellent for breakfast the next morning.
Free internet service in a room behind the conciege was welcome and staff was very friendly.
Great views over the town, our other hotel didn't have a pool and the front desk staff very accomodating and agreeable.
In addition friendly and attentive staff, the concierge was most helpful, our room was large and beautiful.
Good reception staff and we ordered sparkling water.
The bedroom I stayed in was a good size with a very large balcony overlooking the swimming pool, terraced garden and ship port.
The guys by the pool were more than helpful.
