  The neighborhood around the airport is shady, but they have good security and the hotel felt safe. The bedding was superb and the staff was friendly. The hotel is old but nice and quiet considering it's by the airport.

  The rooms are large; however, they are nothing special on the inside. Overall, the room was clean and I would only stay here again for the convenience of being close to the airport.

• The metro station is around the Oakland A's stadium - not a nice place to wait for the bus in the night!

  Ok but strange location!

• The room is okay, but always located in the back building but the sunsets were great.

  The room doors slam shut and was very annoying especially late at night.

• The staff was very friendly and helpful and the shuttle left frequently taking you to the airport, BART, and even Jack London Square. Really great place to stay if you are going for the games and the shuttle takes you right to the Coliseum gate (BART), which is a life-saver instead of fighting traffic when the game is over! They did charge $6 round-trip for the game shuttle--but it was well worth it!

• And they are quiet--pretty amazing considering how close it is to the Airport. Also, we were able to get a rate of $108 for two on the internet--not stellar, but fine for a nice hotel in a very convenient location.

  We were able to check in, drop off the bags, drop our rental car at the airport and return to the hotel (saving us a useless overnight car rental charge) all in the space of about 30 minutes.

  Last, the staff was really nice and helpful.

  I stayed at the Hilton Oakland Airport a couple of weeks ago and it was not bad at all. First it is right next door to the airport. Second, they will give you a ride and pick you up at the BART station, so you can go into San Francisco up until midnight.

  I checked in from the airport without a car and had quite a long walk from the front desk to my room in an outlying building. Otherwise, the room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was what I would come to expect from a Hilton Hotel: very accommodating and friendly. My electric razor stopped working and after a call to the front desk, someone from housekeeping brought me some disposable razors within 5 minutes. I went across the Bay to San Francisco a few times and needed to use the free Hilton shuttle service to get to the BART train station about 2 miles away.

  The only bad thing about staying near the airport at Oakland is the lack of restaurants and other things to do, so make sure you either have a car or plan on getting on the train to San Francisco.
