We got a great Hotwire price on this hotel and were very pleased.
We had a great room with great service at a fair price in this lively well-maintained 1927-vintage hotel.
I have also stayed at the Hyatt and the Pfister in downtown Milwaukee, and this hotel is on par with the Pfister (for a fraction of the price) and much nicer than the Hyatt.
Great hotel for the price we paid, centrally located in downtown and next to a trolley stop.
The hotel has the "Chop House" located on property which is Milwaukee's #1 rated steakhouse and the location is fairly nice for seeing the downtown area.
They are all close in proximity to provide an equally good location to all events.
1)The location is great, the nearby casino has a free shuttle that picks you up and a quiet place to lay my head ranks high traveling.
In addition, it is approximately $25 to/from the Milwaukee airport by taxi.
I took the 80 bus from the airport (25 min bus ride, $2, can't beat that) and it left me right on the corner on 6th street and Wisconsin Ave.
The room is very nice and the bed is very comfortable and I didn't find the bathroom to be that small (maybe cause I'm used to bathrooms being that size in NYC).
We had a room with a single king bed, small table and chair, a TV and bathroom.
Front Desk Staff was friendly and efficient , the room was beautiful and recently renovated - amazing comfortable King bed, large marble bathroom, view of Lake Michigan - we saw fireworks from our room!
The room was a corner room, which was huge, the bed comfy, the bathroom spotless.
However, small room, tiny bathroom, sagging bed, and a view of a brick wall.
We didn't eat at the restaurants in the hotel, although the millertime bar has great happy hour - get there between 4-7pm and drinks are half price, with some beer only costing $1.
The choices for hotel restaurants were: The bar and grill (casual), the cafe (also casual - but no bar), and a steakhouse (expensive!
We went down and had a burger in the bar, which was enjoyable, and had breakfast at the cafe, which ended up being very expensive and the service was very slow.
It does have a wonderful old-style lobby and has a restaurant and a bar on the ground floor.
The restaurant and pub on site were nice which was welcomed as there aren't too many restaurants around open.
The service can be very good from the front desk, concierge and door staff.
I cannot emphasize how nice the staff is, from the concierge to the front desk to the bell hop.
Service is thoroughly professional and knowledgeable, the concierge is extremely accommodating, the rooms are just as nice.
The pool area was beautiful, staff was friendly throughout the hotel and prices were high service.
We had to take a seperate elevator from the parking garage to the lobby, then change elevators to get to our room.
We had an easy stroll to the elevator and a pleasant walk past a garden area to the lobby.
I prefer the Residence Inn downtown Milwaukee: $10 parking and great atmosphere in a former Gimbels department store but no pool.
The lobby was beautiful, the staff was friendly and helpful, my room was clean.
The rooms are spacious and clean although old.
Moreover the service was great, the checkin/checkout process was fantastic and the room was clean.
Bathroom were clean and the elevator wait was a good 10mins.
Also the staff handled the rush nicely, 3) The rooms are adequate and clean, nice sports bar on lower floor.
