That said, it is a great location if you want to be midway between downtown Houston and NASA and close to (but not next to) the Gulf Freeway.
In the title, I said the location was so-so.
I was in town for 2 days conducting interviews, and I kicked it off by apologizing for the location - it was a bit embarassing.
The hotel is right near Houston's Hobby Airport on the south side of town.
So do not worry about airport activity keeping you up at night.
The hotel is attractive, nice room w/King Size bed and sundance bar downstairs is convenient for a drink.
My suite was at the end of the hall and was the full width of the hotel, with a large sitting area on one side, bathroom and small bar with fridge in the middle, and king bedroom on the other side.
The bed was fine and the air conditioning worked.
The hotel is attractive, the rooms are very clean, the beds very comfortable.
I have trouble sleeping in anything but my own bed but the bed at the Hilton was perfect.
Arrived late and the bar took care of us with a good meal, as the airport was pretty much shut down at 10 PM.
The breakfast buffet was the best and least expensive anywhere.
The staff was extremely friendly (check in, check out, restaurant).

There was not much in the way of restaurants nearby (other than a Jack-in-the-Box).
I was pleasantly surprised by the property, everything was very nice and upscale and the front desk check in was very friendly, as were all other hotel personnel encountered.
Great place to layover for the night and very friendly staff.
But isn't management supposed to teach their employees about service?
We had some minor billing issues that the staff handled professionally.
Hotel has a free shuttle to/from the airport and the pool is lovely.
However, we always felt safe at the hotel and the parking lot.
