Good room size, acceptable facilities, unfortunate leak during rain, bright lights from stairwell. Friendly and accommodating staff, clean rooms with comfortable beds. Convenient central location in town. Small rooms but comfortable beds, all amenities included. Very comfortable beds, staff went above and beyond to meet our needs. Early arrival possibly influenced their accommodating behavior.

The hotel had a lovely and cozy atmosphere that reminded me of a quaint countryside cottage. The decoration in the rooms and general areas was warm and inviting, making me feel right at home. As a senior woman, I appreciated how accessible the hotel was for me. The pathways were wide and well-lit, making it easy for me to navigate with my walking cane. The staff, though young, were respectful and always willing to assist me with any requests or guidance I needed.
The only thing I would suggest for a better vacation experience for senior people is for the staff to provide a bit more information about local attractions and activities suitable for our age group. Sometimes the children working there seemed unsure when I asked about nearby walking trails or places of interest for a leisurely day out.

Loved the rustic charm of Heartland Hotel Glacier Country, felt like a true Kiwi experience. Perfect base for exploring the rugged West Coast. The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming.
Oh, and who needs modern electronic cards when you can have actual room keys? So retro!

I booked a stay at Heartland Hotel in Fox Glacier back in October and it was well worth it! The hotel looks new and may be small, but it has everything you need. They even gave us three single beds, which was perfect for a great night's sleep with my 2-year-old son. The breakfast was really good and the staff were incredibly nice. The location of the hotel on State Highway 6 was convenient, with easy access to the Fox Glacier and several cafes and restaurants. We also had an amazing experience doing a Mt Cook and Fox Glacier flight with a company located right next door to the hotel. It's only a short drive to the Franz Josef glacier and there's a great Fox Glacier lookout at Lake Matheson, just 5km away.
I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I liked the service from the receptionist (she was excellent) and the location.
Having 2 cold showers in 2 days because they ran out of hot water. Not fantastic. Also, I had pre-booked my accommodation on Booked.net, then in the evening on New Years Eve they placed out signs saying you could get a room for 2/3rds cheaper. Very disappointing and not fair. I also wrote in the feedback form and handed it in to reception but they haven't responded which shows that they don't care much for feeedback. This also disappoints me because I took the time to do it and they do not take feedback seriously.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff, especially Prianca, were friendly and professional, providing us with valuable information about road closures and our further travel in New Zealand. The rooms were beautifully presented, spacious, and comfortable, with attention to detail. The location was perfect, close to everything on the west coast of the South Island. The basic amenities, including tea and coffee in the rooms, added to our convenience. The breakfast, although not included, offered a basic Continental fare.
No improvement needed, everything was fine.

Tiny Bed (booked a double room yet still had a single bed in there too so unsure if it was a double room or a twin?), no locks on windows, rubbish food, no fan or aircon, no fly nets for windows, looked nothing like images on website etc etc etc

Breakfast was utterly disgusting. Rubber eggs with old beans a total rip off for $23

We loved the comfortable and clean rooms at Heartland Hotel Glacier Country. The facilities provided were great for our family, and we especially enjoyed the warm radiator in the room. The hotel's convenient location made it easy for us to book glacier visits and explore the stunning Lake Matheson. With a choice of 5 different places to eat out in the immediate area, we had plenty of dining options.
Felt snug, no complaints whatsoever.

Perfect location, close to everything in the town. Clean rooms with all amenities, comfortable beds, and a good selection of toiletries. The hotel provided us with a late check-out as we had booked three rooms. Also, the room was newly decorated and spotless, which was a pleasant surprise.
Everything was spot on.
