All in all, this hotel couldn't be faulted for location and value for money.
Overall the hotel was clean, quiet and excellent value for money.
We had one of the rooms at the back and it was unbelievably quiet considering how busy the area was, the drinks were quite expensive, about double the price of the local bars, but they are hotel prices.
Next time I visit Barcelona, I am going to book this hotel again for the value I received for my money.

Great location, a couple blocks from the Ramabla and quiet, centrally located to everything.
Location ideal for either Barcelona on foot, metro or bus.
It's easy to get to from the bus station or metro, close to Urquinaona station, and 5 minutes walk from the Tourist bus hub at the Plaza Catalunya.

At reception my boyfriend double-checked about our request for a double room as we checked in (we had read on some reviews that people had gotten two single beds pushed together, as opposed to a double bed).
The room for the price was a bed and a bathroom.
The breakfast was OK and I also ate in the hotel restaurant once, it was ok food for a busy traveller.
Breakfast was very good with lots of choice, restaurant at night was by and large empty we did not eat there ( we recommend La Crema Canela just of Placa Reial ).
The breakfast wasn't particularly Spanish but was very substantial and had everything you could want, and we also ate in the hotel's own restaurant one night where the set menu with wine was good value at 18 euros for 3 courses and wine.
We never ate there so I cannot comment on the food, but either way, there are enough of restaurants close by to eat at.
The room itself was spacious, we didn'nt use the restaurant or piano bar because they were quiet.

Staff on reception pleasant but the Head Receptionist a bit stand offish.
It was a Sunday and the Hotel Manager would not make himself available to us – leaving it instead to some very helpful but powerless reception staff.
The hotel advertises that it has a pool but the pool is a little bigger than a jacuzzi, and was extremely overcrowded.
The swimming pool was no larger than a jacuzzi and the decor in the bedrooms was very dated and drab.
Terrace and small outdoor swimming pool was great for relaxing after a day being a tourist.
ADSL Internet in rooms and free Wi-Fi in bar - dinning area in lobby.
Furthermore staff extremely efficient and clean rooms.
Room was very clean and buffet breakfast was excellent.
In the hotel the rooms are clean, airy and comfortable.
Our room was fairly large, air conditioned and totally spotless.
Good sized bathroom and plenty of storage space, all spotlessly clean.
