Editorial review:

Built in 1718 and comprised of three original Georgian houses, Hazlitt's Hotel is the former home of essayist William Hazlitt and all 23 rooms are named after former visitors or residents of the house. Bedrooms are luxuriously appointed, with mahogany four-poster beds, Victorian claw-foot tubs, excellent fabrics and genuine antiques. There is no elevator.

Individual guest reviews

  • The location is superb, a nice quiet street right in the heart of Soho and a great place to come back to within walking distance of the bars. The staff are amazing, air conditioning & wifi very reliable and covent Garden is two steps away.

Anyway pretty expensive for the value, delightful Stay in an Old House and far more for your money. Room was actually too small.

  • The location is great, the staff are friendly and accommodating, and the Dog Duck pub across the road is not to be missed, the design is 'funky' Georgian and the honesty bar is good for a wee drink the bars have closed. The rooms are amazing.

The hotel itself is a combination of old residences and no tea and coffee making facilities and that breakfast is not included in the already high price.

  • Quiet location for London and extremely handy for theatres restaurants. A very warm welcome and different old buildings. Near Soho square and Oxford Street, s current high rating.

The hotel would not look the least bit out of place in any period drama.

  • The location is excellent and fabulous restaurants down the street. Hotel is also very quiet, staff are friendly and the bath in the Duke of Monmouth Suite is amazing. The library honesty bar is a nice touch and not too pricey either, the breakfast is lovely and homemade too.

Soho can be a bit noisy late at night and bedroom facilities leave much to be desired.
