The location was fantastic. We could see the Opera House from our room and could watch the amazing laser light display and get to eat at many of the Rocks restaurants, which were all off a high standard. We spent a lot of time on the ferries and walking through the Botanic Gardens.

Having no lift was a hassle but not a big one. No negative things to say. Coming across "Eric" would have been a bonus???

Clean rooms. Could have been more spacious for the cost.

Lack of space, no main light in the bed-space.

checking out, at least the staff on duty that morning were helpful

small, poorly set out rooms, overlooking restuarant courtyard, no staff at check in desk, anyone could have just walked in front door unnoticed

The hotel was ideally situated for all of the attractions of Sydney Harbour. It combined charm with cleanliness .

A little noisy at night. There was a repetitive mechanical noise coming from within the hotel at night.

The view from our room to the Opera House and part of the harbour.

That, as an international hotel, they charge 1.5% surcharge on all credit cards - outrageous! Also, they tried to charge me $130.- more than contracted booking agency agreement.

          Room was available

Poor on so many accounts...on arrival was ignored while the team chatted for at least 5 minutes before they noticed. Markets itself as a 4 star...which is a Grace or Novotel...and it only has stairs. Rooms very basic. Breakfast was very basic....remember the expectation and the price. Then got charged $100 more than the price quoted by Booked.net on my confirmation, and I had to make a stance to get it reduced back. awful hotel....will never book it again. For the rate that it is commanding I would have happliy paid the $100 more and stayed at The Observatory under the Wotif deal.

          the good location

          1. first night was arranged in a noisy musty room at ground floor. 2. get a wrong bill at checkout, and if you use credit card, you have to surcharge a 1.5% credit card fee.

The location is brilliant less than 10 minute walk to circular key and train station making it ideal if coming from airport by train. Close to restaurants bars etc and easy walk to main shopping.

          Could be a bit noisy

Liked the fact that it was within walking distance to most places we wanted to see.

Did not like the fact that there was no lift. Stairs are hard for older people.

Location was great. Rooms were good that although not modern spacious and tiny bathroom still gave a nice feeling of warm and cosy. Staff were very helpful. Again location was unbeatable.

Room 319 was too noisey. We both had to sleep with pillows over our heads to block out pedestrian noise from people walking past the room to about 3am. The doors and windows need to be double glazed. The curtains etc just didn't cope. Having bedhead next to exterior only made it worse.

Not too big. Great location. Interesting historical building. Very clean. A very intimate setting.

HVAC difficult to stablize. (Was there in early June.) Was in room 323. The window is right on the sidewalk. Privacy is a problem unless the curtains are completely drawn. A bit noisy this close to the sidewalk and the street. Because this is a small hotel, I would suggest an upper floor for more privacy for a couple or family.
