The location is beautiful and the surrounder area is completely free of the hustle and bustle of Rome with birds song all day long. The staff are excellent and very wellcoming. I'd go as far as to say probably the most friendly, helpful staff we've ever come across which is something when you consider how much my husband and I have travelled in our lives so far.

The chalets are a little small and quite damp (particularly at night) at the time of year we were there which was April. The travel into Rome, whilst not prohibitive is quite time consuming and eats into your day. The shuttle bus whilst an excellent idea and very necessary could be a little more frequent perhaps running during the middle of the day but certainly could do with offering a later final collection from Prima Porta in an evening, 9.00pm is a little early if you want to eat in Rome. Coffee and team making facilities in the chalet would be a real bonus.

Happy Village was a very economical choice for budget conscious travellers. It is only 18 minutes by train from Flaminia Station in Rome. We stayed in a 1 bedroom chalet with en suite bedroom. Room is adequate size and there is a small private garden outside. On site are personal and clothes washing facilities, kitchen, 2 pools, restaurant, pizzeria and small shop.

The location is not ideal. It is 5 kms away from Prima Porta town and that town has no taxis so we had to get the train and ensure we were on time for the Happy Village courtesy bus or else we had to ring for a taxi to come the whole way from Rome at a cost of €40. This was the biggest single problem and I cannot understand why a taxi company is not available. Happy Village run buses on the hour between 9-11.00am to the Prima Porta train station and pick up on the hour from 5.00 - 8pm - thereafter you are on your own. Also, our room was not cleaned once while we were at the Happy Village, luckily we have no children and are quite tidy and clean people and had our own personal supply of fresh towels, but it might bother others.

Very silent and calm place during the day. Nice warm water

Not a hotel but a hut at a campsite. Thin walls 5 cm. Heater noisy and no heating in bathroom. Dogs barking constantly from sundown till sunrise

I was sure there were alot more written on what was on offer at this place. Yes it was a distance out of Rome, whihc i was privvy to. However, when we arrived late, i wasn't expecting a cabin in a caravan park. Anyways, we lost purchased time on our internet, as it was in and out consistently, there were no phone communications, there was no breakfast (But it stated there were was a food restuarant). The bus / shuttle provider was a grumpy sod, and felt like everyone was putting him out, when it's his job to provide a service. A little bit of a smile goes a long way, aswell as a family of five struggling to get there bags in was frowned upon. The cabin was hideous, with feathers fallling out of the blanket quilt cover and the mattresses were lined with plastic. What did someone s#%t the bed or something?? The counter service in between a cigarette felt like we were also putting them out. Seriously i have stayed at some low budget places but this one takes the cake..On a scale of one to ten, one being worst, It's a definate below zero.

Good bus service and friendly bus driver

Food market: It's not a market, it was very poor and prices was even higher than in centre of Rome. Restaurant/bar: Prices is same like in Rome centre but they don't know nothing about good food. Lasagne was horrible (worst lasagne in the world). And they added table fee and bread (I not ordered bread and I not touched bread too but still they ask money for bread). This service and food was not worth for table fee (no service fee = good service & good food. service fee means always bad food and bad service and this restaurant confirmed it again). Room: no toilet paper, bathroom radiator was cold (it was horrible cold in bathroom, and there was no place to dry your clothes), and room was dirty and of course nothing matched with pictures. :)

The Happy Village is located just outside Rome, only half an hour from Ciampino Airport. We were welcomed with english speaking staff who were very friendly. Our little bungalow was very sweet with only a 2 minute walk to the stylish and well priced restaurant and delightful pool. The food was the best we had in our whole weeks stay in Rome. I recommend the 1/4 jug of prosecco and scrumptious bucatini pasta dish! The other guests were from all over the world and the whole place had a lovely relaxed atmosphere. No need for a car at all - the shuttle bus was regular and the trains were cheap and quick. An ideal stay for a relaxed visit to the busy city of Rome. Perfect for romantic couples, families and the retired.

We loved the environment and the hospitabillity, very friendly and helpfull staff. The bungallow where we stayed was very warmy.

The only thing that we think could be improved is the schedule of the shuttle (from happy village to prima porta station), that would be great to be extended after 22 o'clock.

The staff was very kind and helpful.

The only thing I could mention here is: as the village is located far from the city centre there are a lot of people who want to take the village's own bus to get to the city, but it is very small, and the people have to wait an one hour if they miss due to not enough space. You should use a bigger bus to have all of your guests satisfied.

Happy village was the second camping villlage that we stayed in italy, and definitely more comfortable and cleaner than the first one. We liked the village.

Only disadvantage is its location, if you want to spend more time in Rome nights it is not the right choice.

The bus from the train station worked well and the swimming pool was good. The air conditioning in the room was efficient.

The cabin was a bit shabby. It's not an hotel but a campsite that has some cabins, not that there's anything particularly wrong with that. The photographer who took the photo of the room on the website is a genius.

the hotel was a camping facility mainly and the surroundings were great. Most of the staff were helpful and kind.

It is too far away from main rome, it is in the suburs it takes close to one hour to reach main rome. Some racism was encountered.

The only thing we liked was the black cat that was purring all the time and came to sleep to our house.

Worst hotel ever! Real camping, that you can not reach if you don't have your car! We were waiting for more than 4 hours ar the Prima Porta railway station to get the "shuttle service"! When we got there we asked for a refund as it is really too far from city (no transportation at all) and room vas very dirty, small and uncomortable, smelled like an old barn, no toilet paper...etc...but they give us no refund, so we should stay there anyway. The guy at the pool was very rude-he shouted at me to get out of the pool as I did not have a cap. Nobody used the pool because of that and the pool guy just laughet about everybody! Hotel has a picture of happy people in the pool with no caps, but it is not true! Not happy hotel at all! We lost all our time getting there and back all day long for all unhappy week there! On a scale of one to ten, one being worst, It's a definate below zero!!!

The location was good when looking for a quiet place for kids but also being close to Rome. It took us 25 mins to get to the center of Rome with the shuttlebus and train. Pool and restaurant area was very nice.

The market at the campsite was almost non-excisting, could be a lot better so you didn't have to drive to get the most common things. You can only buy one type of bread and croissants for breakfast.

Cheap, nice bungalows. Quiet area. Small fridge in room.

Quite far from city. No easy access to supermarket. Onsite catering consisted of open fire barbeque. Room described as having a kitchen corner, but only had a fridge, not even a kettle.
