After reading the other reviews I didn't expect much of the hotel, but I found the room and bathroom both to be large and clean.
The room was clean and very spacious but the bathroom was a little tired looking in places.
The rooms are dirty and badly furnished and the bathrooms are filthy.
We booked through a Vietnamese travel agent who obtained a rate of $105/night/room, including all taxes and a wonderful buffet breakfast.
You can book adjoining rooms; there's a small play area for young children, and the zoo is a short walk away.
In fact the breakfast at the main dining area has a wider variety than the one at the lounge but quality wise, it was similar all round.
The hotel restaurants were also five star caliber, and the service throughout excellent.
The breakfast buffet was out of this world.
The bar and reception area are deisgned with the worst taste I have ever seen.
Great jazz band at LaPaix with superb food and real great BBQ.
However I must comment on the good service quality of the staff here and especially Hiroko Seki, Guest Service Manager (Duty Manager) who has constantly attended to our problems?
Service still can be improved, but friendly and staff willing to help.
We used room service while we were there quiet often, it was great and the staff was so kind and careing.
Call front desk and staff sounds also sick of problem, believe internet problem happens often.
Was fairly sceptical arriving to the Daewoo and surprised with a beautiful pool area, great facilities around the hotel and spacious unlike the other places in Hanoi i stayed and a great team.
What we all liked are the beautiful outdoor swimming pool and greens with short walking area (great pictures you would get at the scene) and BBQ buffet at poolside.
The only thing that is good is the pool which is the largest one in Hanoi.
The reception offered me upon check in to upgrade to a Club Room which are very clean and freshly re-done (still could smell the new carpets).
