  The room was very nice and it was very quiet.

  The first time we went to the jacuzzi area we were nearly knocked down by the intense chlorine smell and one of the staff kept coming in there and would just stare at us. The next time we dared go to the jacuzzi we were approached by a policeman who told us that someone had called 911 from the pool area and he asked us if we had made the call. When we first walked in a staff member was cleaning the windows but there was no one else in there. If we had made a fake call to 911 and being that we were the only two people in there after the staff member left it just makes all the sense in the world that we would wait around for the police to show up. And then after the policeman left the staring staff member was back and forth through there again.

  J at the desk here was enormously helpful and efficient and that kind of service got us off to a great start. It had a comfy sofa, stuffed chair and ottoman, at least five lamps with bright lights, desk, good tv, refrigerator that was actually very cold, a microwave, lots of mirrors, and a well-appointed granite bathroom with a fan. The bed was the best part--excellent--crisp sheets, substantial mattress and pillows (plenty of them). The one thing Hampton should do is put actual mugs and glasses in their rooms. Breakfast was very substantial and the location was very beneficial to us.

  Rooms are very clean, nice, bed linens are new and ironed. Staff is honest (I left my cell phone which was mailed to me) and friendly.

  Booked a non-smoking room 6 weeks prior for 3 nights. Arrived about 10pm, checked in, was asked to initial a statement informing me that it would cost $200 extra if I smoked in the room. As soon as I opened the door the stench hit me, went back to the desk and was informed that all the rooms were booked. Went to the manager 1st thing the next morning and he also told me all the rooms were booked for that night also, I informed him that I requested a nonsmoking room but he stated he could do nothing about it because they overbooked the hotel. While waiting out front for the bus another guest told me that he arrived the night before also and requested a smoking room but was given a nonsmoking room and offered to swap with me but I told him I had already checked out and made reservations somewhere else.

  Stayed in smoking room, and found it to be much less smoke smelling than most smoking rooms in other hotels. Bed was clean, comfortable and room was very clean. Continental breakfast was plentiful for all guests, nothing outstanding, but good.

  We were directed to the hotel next door, if you couldn't stand the alarm sounding in the lobby. We were out of our room a couple hours due to this unfortunate incident, caused by foolish patrons on our floor who had a fire extinguisher fight in the hall way. The manager that arrived to assit, was seen vacuuming up the hall after deemed safe by the fire department.

  I booked via my company's online travel agent, where I selected a non-smoking room. My arrival was quite late, and when I arrived, I was gruffly told that I had made an error while reserving my room and had booked myself into a smoking room. Furthermore, the hotel refused to accommodate me otherwise, so I ended up going to my meeting the next day with my clothes smelling of smoke. If the hotel had no other non-smoking rooms, they should have at least attempted some other sort of accommodation (perhaps with another Hilton-owned property). Other than the strong stench of smoke, the room was okay (the typical lame hotel pillows and mattress). After my meeting, a call to my travel agent confirmed that I had indeed booked a non-smoking room. I then contacted the Hampton Inn through their website, complaining about their mistake and the treatment afforded me by their hotel.

  The staff is very helpful and friendly, always ready to help in any way. They recently got very comfortable new beds and covers (which apparently are washed between guests and are actually duvet covers - no more worrying whose backside may have sat on your bedspread). The breakfast is excellent and constantly replenished. My room was very quiet in spite of nearby I-35 and proximity to the elevators. They have a great indoor pool, and business center.
