Musty, smoky room, mold growing all in the bathroom, dirty hallways, unprofessional staff, unkept lobby, and hard, springy beds.

Also, the wireless internet access in every room was a plus, and the rooms were clean and well-appointed.

Neutral: plain utilitarian room with laminate furniture and aged floral bedspread.

Not-so-positive: very loud individual air con unit, downright surly front desk folks who didn't know whether or not rooms were located near the elevator.

Room a/c worked very well and kept the room cool and comfortable; 6.

2 minute car ride out the back entrance to Mt Brook Village where you will find several upscale jewelry stores, book stores, antique shops, a few places to eat, a tux rental shop, gas station, drug store, grocery store, dry cleaners, etcc.

Breakfast was complimentary but dissappointing; mediocre coffee, biscuits, rolls, watery OJ and not enough seating/tables.

Excellent FREE wireless and breakfast was fine.

I ate at Chappy's one night and it is good for a quick meal.

Within walking distance of 3 or 4 decent places to eat lunch 3.

The next afternoon, as I returned to the hotel, the front desk staff apologized profusely for the actions of the baseball team and offered to put us in another room on the opposite end of the hotel which we graciously accepted.

A big thank you to Tiffany, the guest services manager, and the executive housekeeper (whose name I can't remember) for helping us out.

I have to say that the service we experienced was nothing short of excellent, from the time we checked in until the time we checked out.

Also, I heard from the staff that the parents of the kids were angry that anyone would complain, stating that "boys will be boys" and that they could not control their children.

This was a situation where the hotel staff did everything within its power to remedy the situation, and I for one was grateful.

A member of their staff assisted our move and everyone couldn't have been any more cheerful or helpful.

But gotta love Hampton's marketing on EVERYTHING - from pads next to the phone to soap to the elevator - it all has a slogan.

Nice breakfast in comfortable lobby, the rooms were clean.
