The location couldn't be better: a few blocks from I-85, so you could be downtown in 15 minutes, and a mile or two from the MARTA station, so you could take the train into Atlanta if you didn't want the hassle of parking.
For a very good location and the aforementioned breakfast.
Unless you need to be in the business/aquarium area, where the hotels go for far more, this location is great (near Emory, near Buckhead), prettier, and about 25 minutes from the airport.
You can drive or take MARTA to/from the airport, but you'd have to get from MARTA to the hotel and vice versa, which requires a car, or cab or something.
I think a cab from the hotel to the airport would have been something like 50 bucks.
The room, hallways and public areas were clean, there were plenty of towels, toiletries were provided every day, bathroom was nice looking, TV was cool, bed was unbelievably comfy, plenty of space in the room and the bathroom.
Bedroom even had a couch, as well as the king size bed, desk, armoir.
Likes: Bed was comfortable, Service was good (even though I got bumped into a double room when I reserved a King), Location is great- very close to Malls, Restaurants, and Highway (20 min to Downtown Atlanta), Free Parking.
The rooms are not large enough to accomodate all of the furniture that is used in the newer Hamptons so the sofa in my room was angled, making the layout crowded.
The room and bathroom looked clean and updated.
It wasn't the fatso special like you would see in some places (they didn't have bacon AND sausage AND ham AND the pig's head and butt) but for any reasonable person the breakfast buffet was very nice and the dining room (i.
The breakfast was well above the standard continental breakfast some hotels provide (you've got to try the cinnamon-raisin biscuits!
Not a great selection of restaurants right nearby (the Atlanta Diner was OK, and within walking distance), although all the big chains are within a few exits up or down I-85.
Also, the hours for breakfast were normal, something like 6 to 10 or 11.
I was just happy there was coffee available, even after breakfast was over.
Public areas were clean and the front desk staff was always very pleasant.
Check-in was fast and easy, and the front desk staff was always very pleasant (always greeted us when we walked in the door, wished us a good day as we were leaving, etc.
He also told me he was a manager when all he is is front desk help.
The gym looked very nice (see reference above to lazy ol' self) and the pool looked clean and inviting.
My only real complaint was with the pool -- it could have been a little larger, and it definitely needed better cleaning.
I called the lobby on my cell, and by the next day, it was working.
The only problem I had was I couldn't get my laptop to work with their cord (it is a wireless setup, but you need to hook a cable into the wall data jack and your laptop).
Bathroom looked clean and updated, the gym looked very nice.
The free internet in room and the pool looked clean and inviting.
