The stay at Pax Yoshino was wonderful. The traditional style room was clean and beautifully decorated. The hotel's location was a pleasant 10-minute walk from the train station, offering a scenic route. The area was quiet and peaceful. We had the opportunity to enjoy the private hotel spring, which had three different baths to choose from. Although we didn't have time to try the public baths, the private one was lovely. The hotel offered a variety of breakfast options, with both Western and Japanese styles available at the buffet. The staff were all very polite and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. The room itself was spacious and equipped with excellent toiletries. The hotel also provided a free morning shuttle bus until 10:30 am, making transportation convenient. For those who prefer public transportation, the bus to the hotel only costs 100 yen, and a taxi comes at a reasonable price of 720 yen. We even had the chance to indulge in a 20-minute massage, which was surprisingly affordable at only 2150 yen. The concierge staff who checked us in were very welcoming, despite the language barrier, and provided exceptional service. We had previously requested that we cannot consume beef due to dietary restrictions, and although it was initially overlooked, the hotel staff promptly rectified the situation and provided us with a meal without beef. Their understanding and effective management are greatly appreciated. everything about Pax Yoshino was fantastic, with a special mention to the hot spring water.
Nothing all good ✨

Warm and friendly reception. Only can check in after 2pm. We were showed to the room and showed the way to wear yukata. The Japanese dinner was served in the room. Very....very nice. Just need to get a bottle of wine from the shop. Is good to go. The hotel don't have the curfew like mentioned here. (Told by the reception, so don't get put off). Also, the hotel don't strip search guest for tattoos. I have a tattoo and have no problem using public hot spring. The hotel rooms are amazingly done and located by the stream. I've also have never bow so much in any hotel. The staff here is just amazing.
We were having a weekend off without gadgets. No problem for us. So, if you can't cope without data......hehe....wi-fi is extremely slow even for phone usage.

The massage service in your own room. There were also all sorts of massage chairs in the public bath area of the hotel.
The Aston my sister and I chose this hotel was because we thought the private bath was supposed to be an onsen private bath in your own room ( which some ryokans have)... Instead, it was a western bathtub in your own room. We chose to use the public bath in the hotel, which was much better.

English speaking staff made life a lot easier, given my very poor Japanese and they were utterly charming. The traditional Japanese tatami room was very nice with a lovely view onto a forest and river. The onsen was a wonderful experience. A shuttle bus from the station takes 5 mins....perfect. Food served in individual tatami rooms was excellent. Really good value for money.
Nothing...a great place.

The value for money at Pax Yoshino was excellent. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a beautiful river view. The location was convenient, just a short walk from the Yumoto station. The staff treated us with warmth and provided helpful recommendations.
The morning meal could have been improved with a greater variety of options.

Onsen Excellent service from hotel staff Free shuttle bus from hotel to Hakone-Yumoto station
1)Dinner. (More dining options should be made available to cater to foreigners) 2)Too expensive considering the services/type of food provided. Not worth the money. 3)No free shuttle bus from Hakone-Yumoto station to hotel

Cheap
15mins walking distance from station, the way quite far especially during snowing season. I booked the half board package but dinner is not that value for money. Lots of food in table but they are just not fresh at all and not tasty as well!!

The hotel is conveniently located near the train station and boasts stunning surroundings. The traditional big ryokan room and hot spring bath are a perfect blend of elegance and tradition. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the facilities are well-maintained to the very detail. Breakfast is wonderful, and the hotel also offers a shuttle to the train station.
The private baths may not be worth the cost.

The location of the hotel was perfect for us as it was just a short walk away from the train station. This made it very convenient for exploring the area. The amenities, especially the hot springs, were wonderful and provided a truly relaxing experience. The variety and taste of the breakfast options were impressive and we thoroughly enjoyed trying different dishes each morning.

Good food and rooms with a great river view made our romantic escape quite enjoyable! The traditional Japanese meals were tasty, and the soothing sound of the rushing water from the river made for a relaxing environment. the room was clean and spacious with comfortable mattresses that helped us sleep through the night.
The location of the hotel was a big issue for us. It was quite hard to find, and we had to drag our bags uphill for about 15 minutes from the nearest station.
