Very friendly staff. Very clean. Great location for shopping.

Room very compact. No hanging space for clothes. Room was hot and when window open very noise.

      Homely atmosphere and friendly staff

Ground floor entrance can be very misleading, as it is a reception for the whole building whereas Grasshopper has it's own reception on the top Hotel floor

Location is perfect for shuttle bus from Glasgow airport. Incredibly friendly staff - no problem holding baggage for co-traveller who had not been able to get a room in this hotel. Room was ready early. Breakfast was delicious - plenty of very drinkable coffee which hit the spot nicely!

Slightly (externally) noisy at times - probably to be expected as this was a Sat. night. Wasn't told about the sitting room/lounge which was only discovered when collecting luggage - a huge pity as I had friends staying in the hotel at the same time and the attractive lounge would have been ideal for a "natter".

Location is adjacent to Glasgow Central Railway Station yet room was relatively quiet. Breakfasts and associated staff were excellent. The room was small but adequate for a short stay, and the shower was roomier than most - and retained the water so that the bathroom floor remained dry.

We had a poor introduction to the hotel, which is situated on the 6th floor of an office building, with front doors closing about 5 pm. We arrived in Glasgow about 7.30 pm, and left the station by the Union Street steps - to be confronted by a large crowd of people milling around the entrance to a night club. This turned out to be very close to the hotel entrance, which is effectively unsigned, and so we missed the doorway. When we eventually found the entrance we had to wait in the street while we telephoned for the security code in order to gain admission to the building. This situation could have been advised prior to our arrival. The bathroom is definitely not "luxurious", and is small but modern. There is a problem with the TV set up, which requires some instruction before operation. The view from the room was not attractive, but typical of an inner city hotel. Once we were familiar with the situation we were very happy with the hotel and staff.

From the moment I booked,I recieved an E mail saying they were looking forward to our stay. All the staff were so friendly and helpfull, and the whole place was clean and sparkiling.Bedrooms were comfortable and nice shower gel.Breakfast was as good as a home cooked one ,and the dining room was clean.Strongly to be reccomended for city breaks.

Nothing ,except for their sake the signposting to be better as Taxi Drivers had no idea where it was!

Loved the quirkiness of where the hotel was situated on the sixth floor of an office block, staff were very friendly and helpful and the cheap overnight car parking in jamaica street was an added bonus.

Great location just around the corner from central station, easy to access from airport and close to shops and restaurants Room was clean and comfortable Great breakfast, buffet style with a choice of cooked breakfast, cereals, fruit, yogurt, cheese and fresh bread every morning Great bathroom, though small, fine for one person and great shower The best thing about this hotel apart from the location is the staff who were very friendly and helpful and did their utmost to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The Grasshopper is a small hotel with a very personal service.

The hotel is in an older building with other business premises below so it doesn't have double glazing and the noise of the traffic usually woke me in the morning before my alarm. The strangest thing about this hotel is the lack of wardrobes, there are two coat hooks inside the door with a number of wooden coat hangers which sufficed for one person staying for 3 nights but I did find it very odd. There was no information/welcome folder in the room though anything you want to know you could ask at reception who were always very helpful

      Comfortable bed, good shower.

Room very small; breakfast room too small and guests were cramped and getting in each others way. Location not very good, difficult to find. No lounge or bar facility.

Loved the friendly staff, the little extra touches in the room like real milk fresh coffee and cup cakes. There is also a lovely restaurant and the breakfast was to die for.

Noise level was quite high from the train station just outside and the room was roasting so opening a window meant the noise got worse.

A very good hotel for one or two nights stay. The hotel was centrally located and easy to find and within easy walking distance of shops and cafes. Clean and comfortable with very helpful staff who offered tea and coffee on arrival and were able to help with directions.

Room would have been too cramped for more than an overnight stay with nowhere to sit apart from the bottom of the bed. The room was a strange shape with the bed placed between two wall with no space at either side so had to be able to physicaly able to climb on to the bed and crawl up to the top. The kitchen had run out bacon, sausage and orange juice. The tables were slow to be cleared and although we waited half an hour the hot food never materialised apart from a few pieces of burnt bacon. We had to request a pot of tea twice before it was served and then had to ask for milk, butter and jam for the toast which was all that was available apart from cereal. The staff appeared disorganised and spent the time washing dishes. Perhaps if they invested in a dishwasher they could pay more attention to the guests!
