The equivalent for the family of 4 was £200 per night h/b and just shows what poor value for money many UK hotels are.
Obviously being a 5 star hotel the prices are quite high but I didin't think they were that bad - a coffee cost 2 euros, which is about £1.
00 GBP for B&B for six nights, which is virtually half the price that the hotel's own website was quoting and also the likes of tour operators - Sovereign and Thomson et al.
So to sum up, we couldn't fault the hotel, but found the area a little too remote for our liking.
The hotel is in a prime location right next door to a wonderful beach.
Beautiful location, staff could not have been more friendly.
The hotel is in a great location, its facilities are good two heated pools one fresh one salty and two unheated pools ( all outdoors), tennis courts, restaurants, lovely grounds.
1Km from the town of Allbufeira, the hotel does provide a free bus,every couple of hours, a taxi costs 3.
Faro airport and is not centrally located but the free hotel bus.
The apartment consisted of a king size bed with own air cond a good bathroom and a hallway then the lounge had a double sofa bed and a further single sofa bed plenty of room for up to 3 kids.
Rooms - We booked a suite, however this turned out to be 2 adjoining rooms with a sofa bed and dining table in the other.
The room was large with a good balcony, faultless bathroom (with complimentary toiletries and dressing gown and slippers), and great maid service who leave chocolates on the bed in the evening.
This suited us better as we took my nine year old son with us and so my husband and I had the bedroom whilst our son had a very comfortbale sofa bed in the lounge area, rather than being cramped all together in a hotel bedroom.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in a large 3rd floor sea view room (see photo from balcony) with a 7' bed.
Restaurants - The buffet restaurant was awful, the food did not look or taste fresh at all.
Food was very good, especially for a buffet at breakfast- stay B&B as there are so many excellent restaurant options close by and the hotel food is expensive for what it is.
Also the service in the buffet restaurant and at breakfast was terrible.
Breakfast was excellent - the only complaint was that the hotel stated it had 5 restaurants yet we could only find four of which three were open this time of year and only two accepted our half board voucher.
Breakfast was excellent and set you up for the day and dinner in fine dinning restaurant proved to be a real treat.
Overall was mainly disappointed with the service of the staff, from reception staff through to the restaurants the standard was not up to that of a 5 star hotel.
It was very easy to get local information from the concierge and reception staff.
SERVICE: This hotels staff are fantastic - you only have to ask and it is done for you.
With several bars/restaurants, several pools, a gym, spa, Thalasso pool, tennis courts etc, the hotel was very well equipped to make our time spent in the hotel resort itself very enjoyable.
We paid for a 'resort view room' but we were upgraded to a sea view room on the ground floor which also had it's own jacuzzi pool and garden terrace area!
We didn't use the gym but did get a full body massage at their top quality spa for 50 mins which was excellent and at a reasonable price.
However, there was wireless internet connection which was a plus.
Stayed in apartment which was excellent and immaculately clean.
Staff there were excellent, room was spacious and clean, breakfast was ample.
The place was spotless and the room quiet.
Hotel suite very spacious and spotlessly clean - well looked after during the week.
The rooms are spacious, very well appointed and very clean.
