It is not cheap but quality does come at a price and this hotel is very good value for money.
Fine location and the spa at the hotel was amazing.
Hotel Regina had a great location across from the trains to go up the mountain.
In the evening, we enjoyed all the hot chocolate we could get-- sitting in the lovely lounge of the hotel, at the foot of the mountain.
It is nice to have the hotel so close to the train station (provides easy access to ski liftes) but I would definitely look for another hotel should I return to Grindelwald.
We had a huge living room with balcony facing the Eiger, two bedrooms, three bathrooms, a kitchenette.
We stayed in a suite with one of the most beautiful bathrooms I have ever seen.
One bathroom was equipped with a huge whirlpool tub and illuminated glass sink.
The bed linens were silky Egyptian cotton.
We were upgraded from a senior double room to a junior suite.
We ate one night at the hotel's Jagerstube restaurant which offers international fayre as well as local Swiss dishes.
We had several early morning meetings so we ate breakfast at 6:30 am.
Live music entertainment was provided in the lounge bar each evening until late.
The main restaurant is rather old-fashioned, but proper silver-service Swiss food.
The views of the mountains from the hotel are superb and the main restaurant is rather old-fashioned.
Additionally the staff service were superb throughout and the multitude of windows was quite nice.
Staff at the front desk said that the band would probably play until midnight.
The spa at the hotel was amazing and the staff came twice a day to clean.
Massage and other services are offered but I found the quality lacking so wouldn't advise.
One of the best bits of a stay at the Grand Regina is the spa with the various steam, sauna and shower experiences.
The indoor pool and spa facilities were very good.
Several dead flies in the back corner of the desk behind the television told me that housekeeping hasn't been paying much attention to detail.
