    The hotel was horrible for the amount of money that we had to pay, really it was a rip off, especially since we had to pay extra to go to the dump.

    If you are looking for 5 star service this hotel is not for you but if you want a decent place at a reasonable price this place was more than adequate.

    I feel that when you go to a place like Cancun, where people from all over the world visit, where a hotel as big as the Grand Oasis Cancun is making tons of money, and you pay $2-$3 or $4,000 it should be up to standards.

    It is well worth the extra money to stay in the better of the hotels on the grounds.

    The hotel is located in a good location on the strip, close to all.

    I took the time to have some at-length discussion with Rolex and it just drove the point home that there should be something done to clear up the confusion about this location.

    We had checked with the representative the day before to get the pick up time and we reminded him them that we were at the other building, same location.

    Taxi to the airport from the hotel was $25.

    To make the story short, we took a taxi and paid 30bucks to the airport and we looked for the manager at the gray line boot.

    The bath tub wouldn’t drain, the toilet wouldn’t flush, the bed smelled like mildew and was damp.

    I saw a very upset woman at the front desk because she need two beds and all they had left was a one-bed room.

    The room was nice; marble tile floor (bring slippers), king size bed, deep shower bath (with bubble bath provided), small balcony.

    The problem is that they gave us a 2 rooms with one bed each and I have 3 people in my room (so I went downstairs to the front desk again).

    Then when we got to the room it only had one king size bed when we needed two,tried 4days to get two double beds but where told every day we are on the list as many other people had requested 2 beds also and could not get one!

    The restaurants were wonderful and food was great, service was a little weird only one night at the Thai restaurant, our waitor seemed scared of us, but the rest of the staff everywhere else was wonderful, especially in the Ibiza bar.

    The food: the breakfast buffet was better than average with fresh fruit, eggs to order, fresh juice, cheese, yogurt, cereal, etc, and the restaurants (reservations required) offered some near-gourmet meals.

    The lunch options are pretty status quo, but we did like and eat a few times for lunch at Restaurante Las Palmas (the health food restaurant- which had seafoods, salads and chicken dishes for example).

    TIPS:1) Eat @ the Tatish Restaurant for breakfast.

    Ibizu was the best choice for breakfast - linen tablecloths and service - the food is the same food at all three breakfast restaurants but the other two are more cafeteria-like.

    The main lobby was awesome, the concierge staff and front desk staff was great.

    The front desk staff had no customer service skills whatsoever.

    The service provided by the waiters and other staff was impeccable!

    The personal service and attention we received from Martin, the Front Desk Manager was outstanding.

    We were able to use a service elevator for the spa which was a floor below the lobby.

    Jacuzzi was great; can t report on the spa as we didn t try that, but the sale pitch was pretty low key.

    My wife got a massage at the Spa located in the lobby.

    The beach area along this resort is also one of the best in my opinion, there is room to lay out under one of their tiki umbrellas and plenty of beach area to play volley ball or jog along the clean clear water.

    Hotel was fine check in time 10 minutes,grounds spotless,rooms clean and very cold great AC,Pools were beautiful,as far as food not great but fine anything u want,yes u had to wait on line but remember its all inclusive so everybody.

    1st rooms are very decent ( clean and fresh )2nd food is good.

    Our room was HUGE very big and very clean, Our Balcony over looked the ocean, pool and grounds very pretty 5 th floor room 5522.

    The staff was helpful, the room clean and the grounds, beach and inside "jungle" area absolutely beautiful.

      Yes, I read all of the negative reviews before I went down but just dismissed them as being written by people who either had never travelled any where or were expecting Ritz Carlton service at a Hilday Inn Express price. The room (We stayed on the 5th floor of the Pyramid) was definitely of the quality I would have expected with a nice ocean view and a good sized bathroom. Being told that the only the soda, beer and water in the mini bar were free and that the snacks and hard liquor were extra was a bit of a buzzkill when we initially checked in. We arrived around 1:00, and to our surprise, our room was ready and we could go right up. The outside area (Pool, beach area, resort grounds) were all very well maintained and in excellent shape contrary to what many other reviews had said.

      These restaurants that we were allowed to go to that others weren't had the WORST service/food of any restaurants that I have ever been to.

      Room service was supposed to be included but on check out they tried to charge us, they did change that.

      We arrived and were instantly grabbed by a concierge who was going to give us some info. You have and ocean view and a wet bar in the room " we were told. We get to our room and the first thing I notice is where is the ocean view? Bar wasn't stocked and refrigerator was broken. I called the front desk and was told all the ocean rooms were full and someone would come fix the refrigerator and stock it. 30 mins later a boy showed up, stocked the frig with a few beers, 3 sodas and 2 bottles of water. The next day I fixed the frig myself after repeated calls to the front desk went no where. Customer service was horrible for the entire week we stayed there. Finally we got some help from the concierge's desk after almost pleading with people.

      We chose this hotel because it looked like it had a great pool area and easy access to the beach which is important when traveling with 2 kids and 3 teenagers. We are accustomed to friendly staff - at other Cancun hotels the bartenders, waiters, etc. I have no problem tipping for good service, but the only person we felt like tipping was the bell boy who helped us get our luggage out the front door!

      We changed into our beach wear upon arrival and quickly learned not to walk barefoot in the room because of the sand on the floor. Our kids had a crab crawl up from the drain in the bathtub in their room.

      The Buffet's I found were up and down, one day they would be good, the next garbage.

      The staff is not properly trained or able to communicate properly with anyone that doesn't speak Spanish.

      Antonio at the Ibiza Buffet was very friendly and made us feel welcome. Also Escucdario at the Careyes restaurant went out of his way to provide excellent service.

      We stayed in the Pyramid and our room was fine. Nothing spectacular but much nicer than the rooms in the Oasis. Mini fridfe stocked daily or if it wasn't a quick call to the concierge was all that was needed. The buffets were adequate and the a la carte restaurants were great! I had amazing, great tasting, well presented meals at all places. All hotel staff were amazingly friendly and helpful EVERYTIME we spoke with them.

      There was no mold, no leaks, no smells, and the A/C kept our room cold as a meat locker. The food was not amazing, but was certainly edible and satisfying. The best part is the 24-hr room service and free mini-bar. As for the room service there was only one day that we did not order, some days we ordered twice.

      We made sure to consume all the drinks in the mini-bar each day and it was always re-stocked promptly once a call was made to the front desk. We spent most of our days relaxing in the pool. We never had any problem finding a chair, or getting chair side service at all.

      When we got to the room, I couldn't believe the view. I went to the mini bar and everything in there was warm. I called the front desk and they sent someone over to look at. So here is your handy dandy travel tip: they keep the mini bar in an entertainment center and if the fridge is pushed back to the rear of the compartment, it won't cool. The food was excellent in some restaraunts and so-so in others--as was the service. The staff at the front desk were very helpful when I needed to exchange currency or just ask for directions.

      We did not have to wait to eat, no lines at the bar and experienced very good service from all staff members. Check in at the hotel at 3:30 pm was smooth, in fact we were the only ones there to check in at the front desk at that time. Room was an ocean front one and was clean and was cleaned everyday. Food was good - ate a lot of sea food - wondeful sea bass. Pool was very beautiful as well as the ocean.
