  The welcome from old friends (IN NO SPECIAL ORDER) BARRY BARNES, ANDREW REID, RICKY NELSON, PAULA (spa), TANIFF (conceige), LLOYD(scuba), ROBERT(watersports) and NATALIE who's smile we will always come back to, as well as, all the other staff who made our trip special. A special thanks to ROBERTO PELLICCIA the general manager who although , is quite busy, never is too busy to say hello, stop and sit with you or have a little chat and always wants you to know, that he is always available for all your needs. The service for us is like no other island or resort and not only from the people whom we have known for years ,because that goes without saying but also from the staff we met for the first time who went over and above their job requirements to help us have a great time, experience new things and just make us smile with their "NO PROBLEM" attitude. EX: Brenda from the spa gave me a deep tissue massage to help me with my recovery process and I requested her again which happened to be on her day off, she came in with a smile and a "no problem" and Robert who knew I wanted to go snorkeling in the cave (a must see) but it rained when he was there ,so, not to disappoint me , he stayed to take us anyway and it was a definite WOW. Just two examples of the kind of service you get at GLN.

  The beach is beautiful and the service was fantastic, everyone was really nice. The spa was not really a spa and the free pedicure and manicure, not good, they don't have pediure chairs and the room was really small. I had a massage which was fantastic but that is it, you have the massage and go home, its like a small day spa.

  During the Epicurian Escape week, the usual Friday evening General Manager's Gran Gala takes an elevated elegance with more diverse and tempting menu offerings. This is where General Manager, Roberto Pelliccia welcomes guests, recognizes his staff and officially opens the dining experience, which is followed by the divine sounds of the Enchanted Duet, Jose Oxamendi on Cello and Lincoln Thomas, reggae guitarist. Book early because the event is fast becoming a favorite to Jamacian locals and with the word out, rooms will be hard to come by.

  Staff and workers were very friendly on the resort and when we made a request, it was always completed (i.

  I think some rooms were in the process of being upgraded because we noticed that doors were being removed and refinished as we walked back to our room. Our mini bar in the room consisted of 2 bottles of beer, a few bottles of pop and no liquor whatsoever.

  The water and the beach are spectacularly beautiful. Being consistent about your own attitude and delivering quality service with positivity and professionalism is not easy. The French restaurant is is tacky to the point of being funny. There are a couple of nights during the week (Beach Party and Manager’s Gala) that are more of a party but on most nights it is nice and quiet. I tend to get up early anyway when the beach is quiet and the water is gorgeous. My wife and I are middle-aged (she 43 and me 46) so we are not ones to gripe about partying but for us quiet there seems better.

  Beautiful resort, great water activities (sailing, scuba, snorkel), pleasant staff, absolutely delicious food, and yummy drinks-make sure to have a few Hummingbirds (the specialty drink offered there). The thought of the grilled lobster and sauvignon blanc still makes my mouth water. There is one small negative, we did not go swimming on the beach (only offshore for snorkel and scuba) because there were some interesting looking water bugs (thousands) and some funky seaweed stuff.

  While we all head a good time overall during our stay - and the staff were fabulous - the resort as a whole is rundown. The included water sports were great (scuba, snorkel, hobbe cat) but the boats could use some updating as the paint was coming off everywhere.

  Linens we poor, furniture was very dated, beach towels were old and didn't match and the shower/tub combination in the bathroom is the strangest thing I've ever seen. My mom thought she was going to kill kerself everytims she had to step in and out of the tub!

  The rooms were ok, but for the cost, there was much to be desired. I had read previous reviews of staff being unfriendly, thinking that there will always be the 1 or 2 that will be "sour puss" people. Although the place is supposedly "all-inclusive" with tipping not-allowed, the pace and level of service left much to be desired. I would have gladly tipped for BETTER service. It did not help that we were robbed while away from our room.

  From the moment you arrive to the second you leave, the staff makes you feel like family. The staff is amazing, there are so many to name, the bartenders Sheldon, Komey, Lighton, Patrica. The food was very good and plenty of it, the housekeeping was also very good.

  Bare in mind that my wife and I have had the opportunity of a lifetime to live in the Caribbean for a year, therefore our point of view is based on that we are well acquainted with the people, the service and the lifestyle. The grounds are pristine, the food is plentiful and exceptional and the staff are more than helpful, and everywhere you go. Yes, there are some not-so-great employees, but very few. She was wonderful to upgrade us to a perfect location on the ground floor at the clothing optional beach, 11 steps from the pool,7 steps to the beach. The rooms are very nice and the facility offers everything.

  Being Californians, we were a bit disappointed with the Japanese restaurant, but I'm sure it's because we are used to 5+ star Japanese food on every corner in the OC.
