This hotel, built in 1873, is the first ever in Taormina. The terrace views are amazing, especially the sunset views. Guests receive impeccable service from the staff, the gardens are beautiful, and even though the rooms vary in quality, they all have outdoor areas and period-specific furnishings.

Overview

Grand Hotel Timeo is located in the rocky hills on the east coast of Sicily and is a fusion of glamour and style. Grand Hotel Timeo was the first hotel ever built in Taormina. The hotel overlooks the Greek Theatre, beautiful coastline and majestic Mount Etna, the largest European volcano.

The hotel houses 70 rooms, all having modern facilities, such as air conditioning, satellite TV, minibar, bathrooms and Wi-Fi. Some rooms have gorgeous balconies and terraces, overlooking the bay and the village. Two restaurants are available to you at the hotel. Here you can get a taste of a real Sicilian and Mediterranean cuisine or simply sip a cocktail on a sunny day.

The hotel offers numerous services and you can let yourself be tempted by sauna, gym, spa or massage available at the Wellness centre. Private beach and tranquil gardens are the most relaxing spots on the territory of the hotel.

All 70 rooms are design in classy Italian style. Most of them have adjacent balconies with panoramic view of the coastline. There are a number of room options to choose from. For instance, exquisitely decorated double classic rooms are located in Villa Flora, in peaceful area 50 meters from the main hotel. The suites are designed in Italian Baroque style. Each of them has a terrace overlooking the village houses, living area and sitting room, marble bathroom, etc. The Presidential Suites have 200-square-meter terrace overlooking the bay, private Jacuzzi, a lounge, dining room and s small swimming pool.

Front of house staff as beautiful as a kiss on a winters day, rooms are large and beds are comfortable, service in the restaurant could be.
Great location, all in all a beautiful stay without the stuffyness of the San Domenico hotel and perfect service.

Grand Hotel Timeo lies in the heart of Taormina. The bay of Taormina is a ten-minute walk from the hotel. Mount Etna can be reached within a 40-minute drive. It takes about 50 minutes to get from the Catania International Airport Fontanarossa to the hotel. Palermo International Airport lies within less than 3 hour-drive.

Getting around

All major cities of Italy can be easily reached by train. Taormina-Giardini Naxos Railway Station is located within a five-minute drive. Otherwise, exit Taormina by following the Motorway A18 Messina-Catania. There are regular buses that can get you to and from Messina and Catania.

The garden was beautiful and the pool was a nice size that overlooked the sea, location were excellent. The hotel was perfect, the staff were pleasant and professional, room scrupulous, everything worked, and the cleaners were fantastic. Food was very good and the menu was great and varied.

Location excellent and great Hotel. Stay at the old building and forget the annex, staff give a feeling of subtle luxury and comfort, we ended up staying in a Junior Suite rather than the Double Deluxe Room. The bar is spectacular, service in the restaurant could be much better and the pool is clean and quiet.
