Grand Hotel - Old Town Krakow - 克拉科夫

Situated literally a stones throw from the hub of of the market square, the location of the Grand is ideal for exploring the city of Krakow and is one of the main reasons why I booked this hotel.

The hotel is nicely placed, being close to the main Square, but being in a central location, there was some noise late at night which meant that we had to keep the windows closed.

I would stay here again for the location if the price remained the same.

We got the bus and tram from the airport which was a bit of an adventure we would recomend a Taxi, which we got on our return so much easier and only?

I was checking out, whilst my sister and daughter waited in a cab outside that was to take us to the airport.

It is warm and cosy, and our "Deluxe Double" room was very spacious, but the dimly lit bathroom was bijou, and the bath tub built for one of Snow White's helpers.

Fantastic bed and great bathrooms which really they should be at the price of the rooms.

Booked 2 rooms specifically requesting 1 king bed and one single room close to each other.

The staff were great and showed us available rooms and we eventually settled on a suite with a huge sitting room with some big wooden doors partioning off the sleeping area.

The room was comfortable, the bed spectacularly so.

The foyer is small and dark and the restaurant and small bar were generally deserted, although there were other guests there - we saw them at breakfast (mediocre!

The building next door has a restaurant bar ( The Cosmopolitan ) doing a mixture including great pasta and noodle dishes at around £4.

Ample buffet breakfasts with a wide choice, including hot dishes (scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon etc) were enjoyably taken in a splendid breakfast room.

The bar and restaurant are worth a visit and you should try something Polish of the menus.

The location is perfect (two small blocks from the Grand Square) and the bar and restaurant were very good as well.

Shower was fine, as were the staff and the young women behind reception, who helped us out with train times to Auschwitz.

The staff were extremely friendly and the bar service was exceptional.

Reception staff were helpfull and spoke good English.

However receptionist staff, in factk all staff great.

The fitness/sauna is a joke and you have to pay for it.

Free shuttle bus or 300m walk from arrivals.

A visit to the Jewish quarter is recommended and also the salt mines (although there was in interminable wait for the lift to return to the surface).

The reception on our arrival was courteous, and the rooms large, clean and well appointed.

Our room was furnished traditionally, comfortable, spotlessly clean and of sufficient size.

The food and drink prices were reasonable and our room (No 15) was large, clean and well appointed.

Grand Krakow is an average hotel and is possibly overrated for a 5 star as rooms are clean hence basic.

We stayed in Room 23 which was very pleasant and clean, at the back of the hotel and opposite the church.
