Other than that great location to explore Melb from with the tram right outside the hotel.

In a great location to everything and historical building.

The location is great for us (being 5 mins walk from the Telstra Dome) and if you are going to Melbourne for a sporting event at the Telstra Dome I would recommend you stay here.

00 depending on the taxi driver) There are trams running fairly frequently as well or just walk to the train station 5 mins away and catch the train to the CBD - one stop.

As we approached the building in the taxi it looked grubby and unappealing but inside it was completely the opposite!

I remember the room we had last time was very grand indeed - this time the room (or suite as the bedroom and bathroom were still upstairs o the mezzanine floor) had lost a little sparkle.

Our one bed room apartment was quite nice - although did look a bit tired.

The position was fantastic and the room was excellent the bed very comfortable.

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, food was delicious, the room was spotless and homely, the bed was very comfortable, this was a great place!

I loved everything about this hotel - I was booked into a one-bedroom apartment which had a full kitchen (including coffee machine with coffee) with lounge downstairs, then bedroom and bathroom upstairs (stocked with L'Occitane products).

Having said that the lobby, bar and restaurant are great and the breakfast was excellent.

We ate one dinner in the hotel restaurant and it was well cooked, interesting, modern Australian French Asian fusion food, but somewhat expensive; given the plethora of good restaurants in the vicinity, there were plenty of choices beyond the hotel.

It's a cute, intimate restaurant and the meals were delicious.

The breakfasts are good as well but a little bit overpriced (as are most in-room breakfasts) so we'd recommend eating in the city but otherwise this hotel gets a 10 out of 10!

The service was perfectly nice and the breakfast was as you'd expect.

On the other hand, the corridors are broad and indeed grand, if slightly alarmingly decorated; the doorman and room service staff courteous and pleasant, as were the women on reception.

The customer service from the staff was fantastic-exactly as you would expect from a 5 star hotel!

From the moment we arrived till the moment we left we were treated by very friendly staff, professional and prompt services and our accommodation was outstanding, very clean spacious and comfortable.

The reception staff were courteous, efficient and friendly.

Rooms are rather like gloomy student halls of residence, or a down at heel home for the elderly, but that wouldn't have driven me away if the reception staff had not been surly, and the atmosphere less than safe.

We used a hirecar and for $28 a day they offer a valet service, which was very good, and certainly cheaper than car parking in the CBD.

It was very hot and the air-conditioning had to work very hard to try to keep things cool but otherwise it was a most remarkable room and memories of it will live long and clear.
