I've been to a themed weekend which was well organised and excellent value for money and spent a wonderful New Year in a hotel full of fun and atmosphere.
The hotel was clean, the price was reasonable and most.
We went back to reception and asked for our money back so that we could move to a better class of hotel (although at slightly more than £90 per night for the room and breakfast, we expected that we should have a reasonable room).
When I explained to the hotel staff that I couldn't stay another night they would not refund my money.
The location was excellent and the hotel was very good had trouble.
I had heard about this hotel from "The Gathering" folks and was very impressed by the exterior and the location.
The spectacular location and views does not make up for a very underwhelming holiday experience.
All the staff were helpful and smartly dressed and I would recommend the hotel and its location to anyone.
Imagine a large Victorian hotel sitting at the foot of a pier and in front of a mountain, with views of the seashore of Waless largest resort, well that is exactly what the Grand Hotel is like.
Their Premier rooms are great, with all the things you need in the room (en-suite, clean towels, hairdryer, television etc) and have beautiful views of the bay and the Irish Sea.
This was long and narrow but had room for a double and a single bed and the bathroom was acceptable.
Paid extra for a premium room but appear to have wasted my money - dirty en-suite, ripped bed-sheet, dirty veranda with rusting handrails.
There in the off-season, I was given a great rate for bed and breakfast (32 pounds for an ocean view room).
On returning to our room we found that the bath had to be filled using the shower head as the bath tap would not work, the shower flooded the bathroom floor as the hose was leaking.
The breakfasts were good, the evening meals okay (what you would expect in a family hotel) not haute cuisine but they don't profess to do that.
We did however manage to have our breakfast there after the waiter had run it past the restaurant manager, who in turn had to obtain consent from Reception, unbelievable, it was only half full!
Tinned tomatoes and mushrooms, yes, but this is not at all uncommon in hotels and restaurants serving breakfast.
The bar would have been very comfortable, the breakfast is excellent.
Breakfast was acceptable and passed without incident except that the restaurant was full so we had to return 45 minutes later.
Location was superb, staff were very nice hotel lovely recomend the hotel to any one and the service was first rate under the supervision of the manager Duncan.
The staff were wonderful, the receptionist was very friendly and efficient, our room was clean.
On pulling away from the hotel we saw 4 of the restaurant staff sat on the steps at the front of the hotel, near to Reception, all smoking, Classy Joint!
It represents great value for money in terms of food, entertainment, location, services and staff.
The biggest problem was the lack of car parking close to the hotel with over zealous traffic wardens.
No car parking - for £ 80 a night room charge you use the local pay & display with no refund by the hotel.
Only problem was car parking but that is a Llandudno problem and not a problem relating to this hotel.
The rooms were clean, food was very good.
The rooms are clean and tidy, evening entertainment in the ballroom suited a mature age group Good choice for breakfast.
Sea view room was beautiful, the hotel was very clean plus we had a gorgeous breakfast thank you we will stay and all the staff I met were very approachable.
Moreover rooms very very clean, super breakfast.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, our room was a standard room but very nice and clean, the food was excellent and the entertainment was great.
