Grand Hotel Dino Baveno

The location is superb, the small beach one can swim is well located and the place the hotel is situated is wonderful.

The location is absolutely perfect to explore Lake Maggiore and the grounds of the hotel are very nice.

Wonderful views right on the lakeside and the hotel has a beautiful location right on Lake Maggiore.

It costs 10-15 euros to get to neighbouring Stresa in a taxi and the train/ bus/ boats are not available after 7pm.

A word of warning if you arrive by train-we were charged 10 euros in a taxi and the hotel is less that a stone's throw downhill from the station.

Jacuzzi bath big enought for 2, dressing room, huge comfortable bed with crisply ironed white cotton sheets.

The kids slept in a sofa bed in the sitting room of the suite.

The room was newly refurbished, with air conditioning, a separate dressing room and a lovely bathroom (with separate shower and whirlpool bath - although admittedly we couldn't persuade the latter to work, bathrobes, etc).

The bathroom/dressing hall separated the sitting room and the bedroom.

I stayed in room 142 which had a twin bed and a view of the roof over the restaurant and bar.

We ate at the nearby Ristorante Posta which was an excellent restaurant with great AND inexpensive food.

Lunch in the restaurant was an ordeal, where I was haughtily advised that a quick lunch was not possible--all of the food is custom prepared.

Moreover the hotel was lovely, interior was very beautiful and elegant, front desk staff was most accomodating.

The staff is very helpfull, high quality of services, bedrooms will all facilities you meay need and the magnificent quiet position directly on the lake helps to relax.

Amazing pool area, impressive hotel and beautiful lobby.

The pool was pleasant yet the hot tub spa water was only luke warm which was dissappointing since it has a beautiful view of the lake from a glass front patio.

The hotel itself is a five minute walk from the centre of Baveno and there is plenty of car parking space at the hotel (unlike in the centre of town where there is virtually nowhere to park at all).

The bathroom was large and spotlessly clean and the public areas of the hotel were stunning, full of polished wood and glass.

The rooms were comfortable and clean, the food was wonderful.

Our room was just what I had been hoping for, very clean, attractive, a good size and best of all the most amazing view of the lake and the beautiful gardens with a pool.

Bath were both clean and the breakfast was very good too.
