Grand Hotel Di Como - 科莫

Overall, a great hotel in a great location.

Good location, very spacious and clean rooms.

Good location and bus transportation are cheap.

If you want to get a taxi from this hotel, the taxis have to come from Como town so you will pay an extra 10Euro on top of your actual journey fare.

Only downside was the charge for the underground car park which at 15 euros we thought excessive, but at least the car was as secure as it could be.

We had a standard double room with a HUGE bed, ample wardrobe space, amusing bathroom freebies (among the shampoo and soap was a little bottle next to the bidet containing 'intimate cleanser').

The hotel was superb - we had a lovely room with huge bed and plush bathroom.

Although no view of the lake, the bedroom was air conditioned and the bed huge giving us the best sleep for years.

The hotel accomodations were excellent; clean large rooms, marble bathrooms with a huge bathtub.

The directions we asked for were quick and incomplete; the bar and restaurant staff ignored us until we had to go up to them to ask for service (this was while we saw Italians receiving service).

Breakfast was served off the restaurant area with linen-covered tables.

The breakfast room did not have any view t the beautiful scenery, taking the boat in was very romantic and the restaurant at the hotel was very good.

There was an ample breakfast with hot and cold choices served buffet style in silver chaffing dishes.

Bad impressions: cold, snotty service at the front desk.

Very nice hotel serving very nice food, staff at the reception was extremely friendly and our room was as spacious as any previously occupied.

Noise: We had a room next to the maid's service area.

The unhelpful, rude, cold service we received was also what we found typical in Italy.

There is parking in the basement garage, but they will charge you for this.

There is ample parking up the side of the hotel that doesn't cost anything.

There are pool facilities, but they aren't in the hotel grounds and there is a charge.

Very good quite place, excellent service and rooms are clean and large.
