Grand Hotel De La Ville Sorrento - 索伦托

The hotel is ideally situated - only about 5 - 10 mins from the main square - although it is in a quiet location.

Good location close to the centre of town and the main shopping area is just a couple blocks from the hotel.

The location is great - only ten minutes from the main square.

We also got the 'airport shuttle bus' to the airport (the stand is directly outside the train station).

We missed the bus station at Naples airport, which was a few hundred yards to the right outside the 'arrivals' hangar.

There was only enough room to swing a cat, about 2 foot space around the bed, tiny en-suite.

512 which to our delight must have the best view from the hotel overlooking the bay/naples and of course mount vesuvius,our room had a lovely 32" sony lcd television which was nice,the bathroom was lovely and clean with a hairdryer, bath/shower,.

The room and bathroom was kept spotlessly clean and was immaculately decorated - with sorrentine tiles on the floor, incredibly comfortable beds and a comfortable pillow - which is something you don't often find in Italy.

One problem is that due to the size of the room, the TV was just too small, at some points i had to get up from the bed to see subtitles on the TV.

Room was cleaned to a very high standard and bed linen and towels were changed every day.

Wished we have gone bed/breakfast (breakfasts were fine) and ate out as loads of lovely restaurants near by.

Its restaurant offers really excellent Italian and local cuisine and a great choice of breakfast options.

We ate out a few times just for the experience and a change of scenery but we have nothing but praise for the hotel restaurant, breakfast, lunch and dinner.

We were only B&B so cannot comment on the restaurant food; however breakfast was delicious, plus most days we got to eat it out on the pleasant shaded terrace.

The food was superb and the staff in the restaurant and bar were great - very professional and welcoming.

The staff in the dining room, reception and maid service were all very good.

The waiters were all very friendly but I found the front desk staff just to be OK.

However, the front house staff could take a leaf out of his book as we found the Hotel Manager on reception to be particularly rude.

It has a good size outdoor swimming pool in the grounds and a splash pool with jacuzzi on the rooftop terrace where there are impressive views over the bay of Naples to Vesuvius.

Their sister hotel the Royal where you can use the facilities is fabulous and is just around the corner - sea front location - huge pool and lift to the sea.

The 2 guest lifts and the service lift are dated, slow, small and noisy.

There is one desktop PC for customers if needed.

Our room was spotless, the common areas of the hotel were clean, comfortable and relaxed and the food was very, very good.

The room was spotless with clean towels every day.

The hotel was nice and the room spacious and clean.

Rooms very clean and a good size, staff in the hotel couldn't be more helpful either.

The high food quality, probably the envy of every other hotel in the area, is of the same very high standard and our room and the public areas were kept spotlessly clean.
