Overall our stay was very pleasant with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby and an ideal location when visiting World War I sites.

The room I stayed was very small, with a very small bed and a big but unconfortable bathroom (taking a bath causes almost a flood.

We stayed in double room 14 which was tiny with scarcely room to walk round the bed.

I stayed in an elegant large room (room 31) with beautiful marble bathroom.

The room was very hot with hot water pipes running under the floor so even if you turned off the radiators the room was still far too hot as you couldn't open the windows because of the noise from air conditioning outlet.

The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are huge.

On the first night there was a private function in the hotel which closed the restaurant to ordinary guests who were also not able to use the lounge or bar until late into the evening.

An excellent bar and breakfast was super.

The hotel bar is very expensive and does not have the promised entertainment so it's worth going to one of the other bars or restaurants in the square rather than staying in the hotel all evening.

I fell in love with the hotel as soon as I walked in: with it's lobby reflecting a mixture of past elegance and modern art (as they participate in the Artists in Residence programme).
