This is a superb hotel, especially for the price (which I think our travel agent may have gotten through a consolidator).
The location was great, the hotel room was very large for the price we paid for a standard double - we were surprised and the staff had very good English.
I feel the hotel is right for the price we paid.
In addition very low class hotel, the price is quite good too and the lobby is well appointed.
What a fabulous place to stay - located very close to the cathedral in the old area of the city and within walking distance to lots of attractions and a great location to shop.
It was in a great location, centrally located to all major attractions.
A perfect location: two blocks one way to the Duomo, two blocks the other way to the Uffizi, with the Bargello in between, and plenty of eating establishments very nearby.
The hotel is a short taxi ride from the train station.
You could walk everywhere and not have to take a taxi.
When I asked about changing rooms because of the bathroom I was told all the bathrooms were the same unless I wanted to go into a single room with a standup shower and no tub.
There was a double bed (which was actually two single beds pushed together) and a sofa.
The bed and bedding were comfortable and very clean.
Daily we had to beg for items like Glasses in our room, we had to request towels, toilet tissue and when we requested theses items we would have to call management several times before we got results.
The room and bathroom were the cleanest I've seen at a hotel.

The breakfast and the hotel restaurant were really good!
The breakfast meal was a great buffet with diverse food items of great quality.
The adjoining restaurant is expensive, and we did not eat there.
Last evening in Florence one of the women at the desk recommended a terrific restaurant where we had a fabulous meal, Boccanegra, Via Ghibellina, 124/R.

The location was excellent, hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly, then returned on my flight out because the service was that good.
Did many of the tourist sites in Florence ideal location for this, the hotel staff were very helpful and the service was great at the Grand Cavour.
The lobby was beautiful, the staff were lovely and the rooms were & service was very good.
All in all correct staying for the price they offer and the lobby is spacious.
Public areas are light, grand Hotel Cavour is a comfortable hotel in an ideal situation for exploring Florence and the lobby is beautiful.
