The location was unbeatable, for example, The Bund Famed Waterside Walkway was approx 10-15 minutes' walk from the hotel. The breakfast was free with enough Western options, all the food was good.

The restaurant was very nice and the breakfast was incredible and delicious with enough Western options, Chinese food plus fruits.

The location was perfect, with easy access to a walking district, the Bund, and a variety of boutique and traditional Chinese restaurants. The TV service was excellent, with English-speaking channels and on-demand movies. our experience was pleasant, making us come back for another night on our return to Shanghai.

Whether it was walking or taking the tourist-friendly subway system, getting around was a breeze. The spacious room had a modern yet elegant decor, offering a comfortable and stylish stay. The hotel was surprisingly quiet, ensuring a peaceful atmosphere for a good night's sleep. The staff were friendly and efficient, always ready to assist with any queries or requests. The Wi-Fi worked flawlessly, allowing me to stay connected throughout my stay. The hotel also has a refreshing pool, ideal for lap swimming or cooling off after a busy day. With numerous local restaurants nearby, I didn't have to rely on the hotel dining facilities. I highly recommend Grand Central Hotel for an unforgettable stay in Shanghai.

The ultimate in luxury. Concierge very attentive to sort out tv remote problem immediately. Staff very friendly, very good English. Very helpful and taxis organized with ease.

Breakfast in the room: poached eggs were cold and undercooked.

The hotel is very beautiful and luxurious, which is great but needs some getting used to unless if you are accustomed to such luxury (got a great deal, so stayed above my usual level for a business trip). (Watch out to the 5 PM “turning the bed” service, to make sure you put out the “don’t disturb” sign if you plan an afternoon nap.)

All facilities are top notch, but Internet service was very bad and disappointing. The link was not consistent and very spotty. I avoided using it for anything important since I didn’t want to risk it. Really bad point in comparison to the otherwise near perfect experience. The hotel neighborhood is very central and this is great for shopping and sightseeing. However, since it is so central, any walk outside after dark involved aggressive bothering by “girls” and pimps. Very disturbing experience.
